Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt @AvsCoyotes12
The appeals court is set to hear the case on Thursday. Not sure yet how soon the ruling will follow.

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
Last week, I wrote about a second lawsuit vs. #Glendale over its refusal to put a proposed sales-tax initiative on the ballot.

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
Here's a copy of the suit, which was filed by group that aims to reverse #Glendale’s sales-tax hike. http://bit.ly/OIdOGF

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
Daly: “The CBA talks have had no impact on - and bear no relationship to - our continuing discussions with Greg (Jamison).” #Coyotes

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
#NHL No. 2 Bill Daly says league is “continuing to make progress” toward a #Coyotes sale but can’t say when deal could be done.

Appeals Court panel just ruled that #Glendale sales-tax initiative belongs back on the ballot. I'll have more details soon.

Court: Glendale sales-tax initiative should appear on November ballot

Depends on whether or not the appeals process continues. Sounds like this was just a panel at the first appellate level, so there are a few more options if Glendale wishes to keep going.

I can't imagine why an investor would sink one cent into this enterprise.

That's been said about countless entities that went on to be very profitable. I tend to agree with you on this one, but we don't have the access to all of the information so who knows.

so what happens first? Coyotes get a definite answer (stay or move) or the NHL actually plays this season?

i think that would depend on the amount of subsidies they get...if they can somehow manage to get numbers where the annual losses are 'manageable', at some point in the future, the no move clause would expire.

Once that happens the team is actually worth quite a bit of money - enough to offset losses.

the key in that scenario is how long would the team have to remain in Glendale before being allowed to move.

7 year commitment to Phoenix, money will not be an issue.

from @rocandmanuch

The interested buy is a former West coast NHL exec and has multiple investors.

Why would they do anything before the CBA is done?

It has been a laborious process, so if it is indeed done on Labour Day, it would be fitting. I guess we'll see.

Edit: Looks like at least another 30 days.

Just because I flew into Scottsdale this weekend doesn't mean I'm buying the Coyotes, don't get your hopes up.

Sounds like if they don't, Doan is gone for one.

Also, it could be dangerous as there's expected to be sufficient turnover in the November Glendale election which would mean a less-favourable council moving forward.
