Man, I haven't watched the Score in years. I remember watching the 2005 NLL Champion's Cup on the Score with Toronto winning over Arizona. That and watching Montreal Expos games in 2003/04.

I remember back around 1998 when I turned on The Score it gave me highlights of scores, which is what I thought the channel was for, now it's like watching a community channel trying to be like TSN. I stopped watching The Score a loooooooong time ago, when I flip by all I see is soccer and WWE wrestling

Is it really too much to ask to have one national sports network that focuses on local track and field highlights? That's all we want. I mean if I can't find it on TV, then I have to turn to a 2 x 2 inch box on page 36 of the sports section to get my local track and field fix.

In the last 2 years The Score has taken a major downward spiral. They're obsessed with their Drafted show which no one else can stand, it gets harder and harder to get proper highlights, and all their new "hosts" seem like reality TV rejects and are really annoying compared to the days of Tim, Sid and Cabbie. Now that i think of it all really started to go downhill when Deb Matcejicka left.

Didn't Tim and Sid leave like a year ago?

Yeah, Tim and Sid are long gone.

Greg Sansone has ran The Score into the ground since his promotion. It's shocking he's still that high up. Between the mass of good talent they've lost and bizarre programming they've started focusing on, it seemed like it was only a matter of time until they folded. Quite a shame as a few years ago they were my favourite of the sports channels for highlights and offered decent programming on top. Now I only watch The Footy Show as the rest is poorly produced or gimmicky. Sad.

Tim and Sid, Cabbie, Elliot Friedman, Steve Kouleas, Sara Orlesky all have left or been let go. I enjoyed all of them personally.

I think about all the times I'd pass out on my couch watching sports highlights on The Score before 2005.

I think my favorite personality was Tony Ambrosio. I loved the way that guy dictated highlights.

I think what killed the score out West anyway was the fact that it took so long to get in HD and the advent of TSN 2 and RSN's alternate channels.

Good point. I was always a Score man, then when TSN went HD I switched & never went back.

With any luck this will mark the end of WWE broadcasts on Cdn sports networks.

Yeah, good luck with that. And, who cares?

I don't watch WWE, I haven't in 12 years when I was 18.. but how many channels are on TV, how easy is it to avoid?

I never really gave this afternoon lot of thought. I just assumed because they are athletes it's fair that they be on a sports network. Although, it's not actually a sport, the competition is in popularity not wins/losses, so should it be on a sports network?

This is a question for another thread. That said, if you get rid of WWE, you basically can't show boxing either

The problem is, there might be five people in the entire country that share that sentiment. Back in the day, TSN tried to go niche with WTSN. The world's first all-women's sports network. It barely survived to its second birthday because nobody watched, and therefore nobody bought advertising time. It was also grossly expensive to produce.

The Score will try to show what people want to watch. And as flameswin so eloquently states, nobody here cares about track and field and the like.

Sid and Tim are on SN Radio. After SN came into existence The Score didnt just have the money to compete with Rogers or TSN/CTV/ESPN

I just assumed you had spent the entire afternoon considering the viability of WWE broadcasts on a Cdn sports network.

And for the record, I think wrestling sucks and as a result I do not watch it - ever. I do appreciate however that it remains one of The Score's most watched shows and it makes sense for them to show it. I guess I just miss the original Score format which was scores (for legitimate sports) and highlights ONLY.
