Interesting experience. Their employees must go through the same training as they do at UHaul.
I agree though about Enterprise, whenever I have had to use them the experience has been excellent.

When I pay $54 to renew my vehicle license plate, how much of that goes to the registry?

They don't look like pill bugs. I thought pill bugs had a shiny surface and would roll up into a tight little ball.

IIRC, pill bugs roll up into a ball but sow bugs don't. After a second look I think they're sow bugs.

Why do we have to register every year? What is the practical purpose other than to raise revenue for the government and keep registries in business?

Also what is the best way to remove the marks, can it be touched up or would the whole ceiling need to be painted or, at worst, replaced?

This will need to be replaced. If you paint it, no matter what paint it is, it will eventually bleed through. If you're moving in less than 6 months, then who cares, but if not it'll eventually re-appear.

I originally posted in the car salesmen thread but it probably would work better here
Are dodge trucks terrible quality compared to everything else? Since I am moving to Cochrane I am looking at getting a truck since I can't borrow any from my close friends anymore. I want a quad cab and so far Dodge 1500's are the only thing coming in my price range of sub 10k. Often even cheaper then the Dakota. Is there something I am missing as to why these trucks are so cheap compared to the rest of manufacturers.

Does Canadian Blood Services test all blood donations? If so what do they test for, HIV, Hep C/A/B? If they find a positive do they notify the donor?

I can't comment on the previous generation build quality, I have heard that the interiors of the dodge pre-2009 were pretty bad. I have a 2012 Ram 1500 and I love it.
If you are commuting from Cochrane though, it might be a little hard on gas. The newer gen has the Eco mode thing where it shuts off half the cyclinders when you are at a constant speed.

I've noticed these around my house as well, decided to read the Wiki article...
"Despite being crustaceans like lobsters or crabs, woodlouse are said to have an unpleasant taste similar to "strong urine." or "the taste of penis""

8. If you test the blood that is donated, why do you have such a lengthy screening process?
Canadian Blood Services does test every donation using sophisticated and reliable procedures. While these tests are highly effective, they are not perfect. There are brief periods after infection, known as the “window-period”, during which current tests cannot detect signs of a virus. Advances in testing technology have reduced but not eliminated these window periods. This is why Canadian Blood Services has strict donor screening procedures to ensure that each donor presents the least possible risk of transmitting diseases through their blood.
|
I didn't find anything about what specifically is tested for, but I kind of got bored and gave up, it might be there somewhere.
Edit: I did find it http://www.blood.ca/CentreApps/Inter..._Blood2010.pdf
Quote:
Your blood will be tested for:
• Hepatitis B and C
• Syphilis
• AIDS virus (HIV)
• HTLV virus
• West Nile virus
• Blood group
• A Chagas disease test will be done if you have answered
“yes” to any of the questions that identify a possible risk
for acquiring Chagas disease. A Chagas disease test may
also be done on a certain number of donors who answer
“no” to these questions.
• Other tests, such as parvovirus B19, cytomegalovirus (also
known as CMV) and bacteria may be done. This depends
on the use of your blood.
There are unusual circumstances in which these tests cannot
be done.
Positive test results
If any of these tests show results that could affect your health
this is what happens:
• Your blood will not be used
• CBS staff will ask you for the name of your doctor and the
results will be given to him or her
• Except for a positive West Nile virus test, your name will be
added to a private list of those who cannot give blood
• If required by provincial law, the local or provincial health
office will be informed of positive test results.

The guy who hit my wifes car in a parking lot last week now is balking at paying for damages after i sent him the estimate. My wife didn't get his insurance company for some reason (but we do have his drivers license)....is there some easy way to find out who it is, so i can make a claim?
We do have a witness, so hopefully that goes a long way, but what typically happens in a he-said/she-said type of case?

Report it to the police. He will have to come in and make a report. It is a very common occurance, and the CPS are familiar. How much is the damage? There is a certain figure (I can't rememeber what it is) but any damage about that figure needs a police sticker before a bodyshop will touch it.
PS report it as a hit and run.
Of course you could also get a lawyer buddy to send him a letter in his firm's letterhead.

I will only be driving into crowfoot so I can use the transit all those city suckers provide for me. Will be car pooling as well so the 40k a day isn't to big of an issue for me.
Newer gen is definitely out of question even though I would love something with eco mode for those reasons. I only have around 10k to make a purchase
