4 hour playtime well exceeds my attention span for a single game. Looks fun though.

Twilight Imperium Third Edition is an epic empire-building game of interstellar conflict, trade, and struggle for power. Players take the roles of ancient galactic civilizations, each seeking to seize the imperial throne via warfare, diplomacy, and technological progression. With geomorphic board tiles, exquisite plastic miniatures, hundreds of cards, and introducing a rich set of strategic dimensions that allows each player to refocus their game-plan, the original designer Christian T. Petersen has seamlessly incorporated the better qualities of other recently popular games to improve on the game-play of the original TI, making it at once perfectly well-rounded and pleasantly familiar to experienced gamers.
TI3 is played by at least three players who belong to ten possible alien races, each with their own advantages and quirks. The 'designer notes' in the rulebook candidly and humbly acknowledge the inspiration for some of the improvements to the original game. The strategic game-play borrows the governing element from 'Puerto Rico' to involve players in an iteratively complex and yet fast-paced game experience with very little downtime. The game map, basic player progress and overall victory are dynamically determined in almost exactly the same way as they are by imaginative players of 'Settlers of Catan', while the "Command" system cleverly improves on the 'oil' logistical mechanism of 'Attack' to both manage turn-based activity and limit the size of armies, uniquely enabling weakened players to bounce back if they play their cards right.

I love TI3, but it is so far between play sessions that I forget how to play every time.
When we play, we tell the wives to plan for a to be gone 8 hours. Very rarely are we home early.
Depending on the timing of the day, I would be interested.

I picked up Seinfeld Scene It at the thrift store the other day for $4.
It's worth it to play through it about five times or so, but after that the same scenes and questions start showing up. It's still fun and funny while it lasts.

I hear the Age of Empire variant is faster (all objective cards are layed out at the start).

That would help, but the biggest problem with us tends to be flow of the game. Since it is quite complex, all players need to know what's up and be planning ahead.
Posting the tutorials should be a big help in reducing that though. Assuming everyone reviews them both carefully before they play.

I didnt realize Arkham Horror was so highly liked. I played it once and didnt really like it.
http://www.calgaryherald.com/health/...251/story.html
I own 6 of the Euro games listed there and at one point owned 9 but sold 3 becase I bought them due to hype alone and didnt play it first, big mistake.
I own 5 of the older school more tradition board games but other than chess they never get brought out anymore.

I just picked Alien Frontiers up and played it for the first time. I loved it. It will be one of the most played games in my collection of 30+ euro games. Its pretty hard to find right now because of a small production run, but you should grab the game if you see it anywhere.

That list has a bunch of my favourites:
Dominion
Puerto Rico
Power Grid
Chess
Perhaps missing from the list:
Caylus
Seven Kingdoms
Hacienda
A few that I own that we pretty much never play anymore due to the above being better include:
Settlers
Carcassone
Ticket to Ride I pretty much only play on my phone, we can set up LAN games of it on our iPhones.
Haven't tried Arkham Horror, Pandemic or Agricola.

I've always enjoyed playing complex games but can't really find anyone else interested in my group of friends. I'd definitely be interested in this game.

Interesting list. I own every one of them except Arkham Horror. I've never actually even played it. I'll have to give it a try.
And it's ridiculous that Go is rated so far below Chess. Chess is a battle and Go is the war.
