When you look at the video on the main site of the Spartan Race, it's pretty crazy. When you look at last year's Calgary event, however, it doesn't look as intimdating.

Both would be fun to try out at least once but the Calgary Spartan is a 5km race with 10 obstacles whereas the Toughmudder race is going to be about 20km race with obstacles throughout. You can get on list to register for it now and many of these sell out quickly once details become available. I think 2013 Calgary & Montreal are both firsts for this event in Canada?

I was too late to register and never got a spot in this race. I did Mud Hero back in July and it was frickin awesome. Girls outnumbered the guys 2 to 1, majority of them hot and just wearing a sports bra. They also had a live band and beer gardens. I highly recommend doing it next year, I will be!

On Topic, I am a few other buddies are going to to toughmudder in Que next year.
Last time I did this type of course i got paid to do it.
