Default Eavestroughs: know anything about the business?

I need to get ome work done on my eavestroughs, namely that I want to upgrade to wider troughs and add some badly needed downspouts, but I don't know much about the business. I've had some quotes come in and they seem really high.

How much per linear foot should I be looking at? What other factors are there in the estimation of cost? How does that machine that makes it the one piece actually work? How is it bent?

I had never put my mind to it until late winter and early spring and eavestroughs have me gown for a loop.

Just had my house quoted in LB from home depot, who contracts out to peak roofing. Here it is. They sent me a revised quote and it's actually about 100 bucks higher than below. 1800 square foot 2 story + Double garage:

Supply and install new large capacity 5 inch continuous eavestrough#on the house + garage with downspouts#to located at the same location as present + add as needed to move more water to both ends of the house.

This quote includes cleanup of the work area. Removal and disposal of all old eavestroughs and downspout material is included in the quote.

House $ 2,448
Garage $984

Total $ 3,432

GST is 5% extra.

There is a Summer Roofing, Siding and Eavestrough 15% off promotion running until July 31, 2012. The promotion discount reduces the project total to $ 2,917 + gst.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

If you have many trees in your yard I would recommend a gutter screen. Easy to clean the #### off of, and easy to pop out for the #### that makes it's way in.

Weird. I just went to home depot here and they said they don't offer it up here apparently.

Maybe I should check a different store.

I just redid my own downspouts. Cost $80 in tin bits from Rona...was kind of fun but took a few hours.

I would do the eaves on a garage, and if it went well, maybe my house (but it is an easy roof line). Youtube everything.

Maybe they are swamped by the hail storms.

With the weather Calgary has had this summer I would ensure you pick a contractor with a history, ie: a referall such as Titan (not familiar with them). The large volume of work that the summer storms have delivered to Calgary means that some companies might be fly by night.
