I realize that a large percentage (hopefully greater than 50%) of Americans are also on board with equal rights for gays, and don't agree with the bigoted views, but the amount of citizens that make disturbingly homophobic/bigoted comments towards gays when talking about same-sex marriage and other same-sex issues and honestly don't think they're off base or being unfair/hateful, is pretty sad.
that's exactly my point, those politicians wouldn't be openly bigoted if there wasn't a large enough portion of the population that agreed with them, and that's the worst part. after everything the US has gone through with slavery, civil rights, equality for women, you'd think that their views towards gay people would have evolved a little further than a 1950's mindset. it's really sad

I like America and I like Americans. Yah, the rabid patriotism and the pandering to religious nutbars is annoying, but no other nation has made so many positive contributions to the world in the last 100 years. What other country in the world would you rather share a 3000 mile border with? Nobody!

I don't know, man. Sharing an 800 meter border with Denmark is the main reason I love living in Canada.

I'd prefer to share a 3000 mile border with Salma Hayek.

Way to go NBC. At least you got the US Americans flag right.

Is the United States the only country that does things like this? I can't remember ever seeing another country make this kind of screw up, but the US seems to do it all the time.

The North-South Korea mix up in the Olympic Games ranks much higher than that in terms of screw ups.

Well, Kuwait did play the Borat Theme instead of the actual Kazahkstan National Anthem not too long ago.

Those people are watching women's soccer. Think about that for a minute. Not just soccer but women's soccer. Clearly they're not that bright to begin with.

Haha, that's one of my biggest pet peeves. I think it might have to do with the fact that hardwood floors (instead of carpet) seem to have been more prevalent there?

I've had to condition the wife to the right way.
