Brazil almost pulled out a second (and thus both) goals in extra time thanks to typical Mexican slack defense.
Unsurprising about all the hype around the mountain biker for her to slip down to 9th, almost as much hype as the one and done female boxer who got the same treatment and result.
Watching taekwondo, and although the matches take a while thanks to it, the video review process of points being scored or not scored makes sure the calls are correct, and not susceptible to some crooked opinion from a dubious 3rd word judge with an agenda, like boxing and other judged sports fall victim to.

They had to do that so refs wouldn't get kicked in the face!

Only a year ago, I thought this team would never ever recover from what happened at the World Cup. I think if you were to ask Sinclair even today, she would still be so sad about it. It totally destroyed them. With a coaching change and different mentality, they picked up the pieces and got a friggin' Olympic medal.
Sinclair is one of the humblest human beings you'll ever meet. Soft-spoken, kind, shy, but so passionate about the sport and her teammates. I have a tough time with any sort of criticism she gets because of that. Most of all...she loves Canada. I can't even explain in words the kind of pride she has when she wears the maple leaf.
When you follow a team for so long and something amazing happens to them, it's just natural you would jump to their defense. Every single sporting fan has a team/teams they love.

To this I would add that I think the response to the sickening loss (robbery?) from the Canadian women was something else to be immensely proud of.
To suffer such a sickener after going flat out for 120 minutes like they did and come back and win the bronze was incredible.
And while it is a team sport - Sinclair led them through it.

In my opinion Sinclair had the best individual performance of the tournament and in the end we got a medal.

Handball looks exactly like what you'd get if you combined basketball and soccer. entertaining to watch though, far better than volleyball or actual basketball

I think it's more of a combination of indoor lacrosse and basketball. It basically lacrosse without the sticks and bigger nets.

Exactly, Sinclair has to carry the flag. With no disrespect to the Maclennan, but not all medals are created equal.

Why isn't lacrosse in the Olympics, it seems like it must be played in as many places as some of these sports.

Evans, the British boxer who controversially beat the Clayton, has done it again in the semifinal. Won the first round by way more than he deserved then lost the next 2 rounds but it was still enough to get him to the goad medal final.
He's 0-4 in the last 2 rounds of his last 2 fights but somehow, he's won! It's Olympic Boxing!

I think the US can pull the upset, but Jamaica will probably take it.

19 medals is our second best non-boycott total ever. Behind only our 22 in Barcelona.
