then one more year away
gaudreau, jankowski, sieloff

I could see Gaudreau leave early if he has another big year (a combination of any of these really: WJC medal, another NCAA championship, Hobey Baker etc). He would really have nothing else to prove as he is showing his size isn't a factor. Did Kariya leave after 2 or 3 years?

Gaudreau's best quality is that he's never satisfied with how he's doing.

In 2014 I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see Sven, Brodie, Bouma, Reinhart, and Gaudreau. Given some comments made by Feaster, I would also put Ramage in there as well.
I'm optimistic about Nemisz, but I need to see some major improvement in his skating this season if he expects to be giving a fair shake at training camp this season and in 2013. Every year I've watched him he's been consistently improving, so I hope the trend continues.
This season will be Irving's moment of truth. I hope to hell he takes a hold of it and solidifies his spot as Kipper's backup. The Flames need wins out of their backups.

He looked pretty good at rookie camp and he has nice size, which surprised me. I agree 100% that he needs a year in Abby and he will make a strong push the year after to make the big club.

I hope working with Gary Roberts this summer will help Nemisz take his game to the next level.

One thing I found interesting though was that Feaster made a comment about Reinhart likely starting in Abbotsford, but saying he expects him to finish the season in Calgary possibly even around Christmas time.
Given what I saw from him in the last game of the season and his one game in the playoffs, it wouldn't surprise me to see him stick with Calgary half way through the season.

Amazing the confidence the coach has in Gaudreau. Has him on the PK and PP.

Can't wait to see when this kid is ready for the Flames, little but skills galore.

If he puts up another PPG pace this season, there's no reason he shouldn't graduate to pro hockey right away. Either get comfortable to playing against men in the AHL or go straight to the Flames if there's a spot for him.

It's likely that John makes the US WJC team this year I assume?

considering he was one of the final cuts and with players graduating, I think barring injury he is a shoe in.

He was one of the last cuts last year, and he said that was what inspired him to have such a great second half of the season. He should certainly make the team this year.
