Well with Mathieu gone, I'm very curious to see where the preseason AP poll ranks LSU. I could see them slide to the 6-10 range now. Likely to fall once the first regular coaches poll comes out. Also curious what he did to get the boot.

I believe that until there is a school that can recruit the South like the big boys in the SEC can, they'll continue their championship run.

My guess as to who that will be? Florida State. Not this year, but soon.
This isn't because I hate FSU with a bloody passion but what have they done in the last 10 years except lose no less than 3 games every year? FSU hasn't done a damn thing to get the hype they deserve, they do have a good defense but their coaching staff and offense leaves a lot to be desired. The sad fact is that FSU is a shell of it's former self, the doak has sold out twice in the last two years (Florida, OU) and other than that they have a half full stadium and hype that they lose quick when they lose to wake or some other cream puff from the ACC.

The rumour about Mathieu is he failed, not one, not two....but SEVEN drug tests. Did he not just see what happened to Janoris Jenkins?

Honey Badger don't care about no drug test, he don't care about no scholarship either.

Way to go, Mathieu.

I'm curious to see where he ends up, if he'll go to a FCS school, transfer to another FBS school and lose a year, or sit out and enter the draft in 2013.

Mathieu is obviously a special player, but I'm not too concerned about LSU, they'll just plug in another great athlete.

PIMking: Regarding FSU, I was considering location, tradition, ability to win the conference, and the administration. Miami is in some trouble, which also helps in the recruitment of players to FSU. I don't have a dog in the fight, but I think the foundation is good for a climb back to championship caliber.

Don't all the guys who end up ineligible or kicked off a team from the SEC end up at North Alabama?

They used to go to Georgia Southern or McNeese State. The screw-ups in the West go to the U of Montana.

I know it's their rules, but I still think kicking a kid out of school for smoking pot (assuming the inferences are correct) is extremely lame.

Odd...because I still think anyone who repeatedly engages in an action he knows will result in suspension from the team and probably the school as well as a loss of a free ride for his education....is extremely lame.

Janoris was busted with weed twice in 3 months while walking down the streets of Gville, then apparently he went to Muschamp and told him that he couldn't do anything because he's janoris jenkins. Then JJ was no longer on the team and Muschamp needed a new window in his office.

That's when Bowden was there, he is no longer there and I'm not sure what will happen but since Honey badger failed 3 NCAA tests (not school tests) he will not be able to play any NCAA football for any division next year

It wasn't the schools choice, it was the NCAA.

If were talking about tight-ends then the SEC guys will definitely be bigger. Stronger or faster, I'm not so sure since Lyerla is an absolute athletic freak. If you go off last years NFL Combine and results from highschool he would have finished 2nd in the 40, 1st in the verticle jump, 2nd in the broad jump, and 2nd in the bench press.

I would kick him in the junk then die of a heart attack before he beat me to death with my own testicles.

Season Starts this week...anyone attending live games this week or during the season?

I will be at the Northern Colorado vs Utah contest and have tickets in hand for eight other games. I get a to watch a pretty good mix of teams live from the PAC 12, Sun belt conference, WAC, Independant, SEC.

Go Utes
