Yeah, I've gotta admit, decathlon and heptathlon are becoming two of my favorite Olympic sports; it's always a lot of fun to follow these guys through all the various events, and having a Canadian in contention makes it even better.

This is why Women's football will never amount to a hill of beans.

One of the most amusing memories of I have of going to the Beijing Olympics was from the Men's Basketball Finals. All these fat white people high fiving each other screaming: "WE DID IT, WE BROUGHT HOME THE GOLD!!" at the ending buzzer. Completely out of breath from the high fives, they would then sit down and then complain how long the gold medal ceremony took as all the black guys got the medals for actually doing the work.

Kenyana: lots of slow twitch muscles.
Jamaicans: lots of fast twitch muscles?

You may have been looking for an explanation of why that would be though.

back to the 800m

Rudisha ran the first lap in 49 seconds and then ran the second lap in 51 seconds. If my math's right Rudisha ran 8 12.5 second hundreds in a row? I think that is what he did... That is just too stupid for words.

Also the British guy who finished last. His time would have won gold in Beijing.

That might have been one of the best races ever in racing!
