Tonya Verbeek won her Women's freestyle 55 kg semis and is at least guaranteed a Sliver.

Meaghan Benfeito placed rather easily second in her semis in the Women's 10 metre platform in Diving this morning, Roseline Filion placed eighth. Both made it to the final tonight which takes place at 19:00 local time.

The fact that Canada hadn't won a team medal in the Summer Olympics since 1936 and Sinclair has the record for goals scored in the tournament, they'd be idiots to choose anyone else as flag bearer IMO.

Maybe there is a bit of jealousy there but it's mostly due to the arrogance of the US athletes and broadcasters.

In 2008 in Beijing the medal standings were always by the total number of medals, but because the US was trailing China but had more Gold, NBC had them on top!

Course NBC as of today switches it back now that the US has more medals but China has more gold medals. hahaha
