The fact these guys run 200 m about as fast as they run 100 m is incredible.

LOL - the team other than Walsh and Treanor yes. Those two are such a mainstay of the women's game you probably should notice a US team with or without them.

Got to watch them in person in Beijing - crazy crazy good team.

Not in bikini's they don't. I'd link a "normal American" wearing a bikini but then you'd probably have to stab your eyes out with a spoon.

Good question. He's certainly peaking at the right time, personal best in highjump, 1 cm off his shotput PB, PB in longjump, seaon-best in 100m. I think he'd need to continue to have PB-type results all the way through to have a chance at a medal. He's definitely stronger at the short speed-based events - 100m, long jump, and hurdles. Day 2 tends to favour the throwers, which Warner isn't. But if he gets a solid time in the 400 here, he's got a shot.

That is true except for Walsh's ass. It's prob the most famous ass of all time and most recognizable.

Not that incredible when you think about it, since they go into the second half off the 200m much closer to top speed, whereas both races start stationary.

Dominant night for the US in athletics. I wonder if this will be enough to take the medal counts from China in the end.

Wow Trainer and Walsh win their third straight gold medals and are 41-1 in sets all time at the Olympics. One set lost over 21 matches! That's simply outstanding.

Another personal best for Warner: out of the five events today, 3 personal bests, and barely missed two others.

edit: in third now! He's got a chance!

Warner also seems to be one of the best hurdlers in the field so he should start well tomorrow. Unfortunately his personal best in the discus is nowhere close to the top competitors so he's going to drop ground there.

just keep close enough to be in position in the final event 1500m.

And repeat one of the greatest Canadian achievements. 8th going into the 1500m!

Haha, she's May-Treanor. If you're going to drop one of the names drop Treanor because people know who Misty May is.

I'm just adding up his personal best scores to his current scores thus far. If he hits the personal best in all his remaining events, that would put him around 8415. That might be enough to put him in the mix for a bronze, but probably Suarez, Hardee, and Eaton all go over 8500.

I'm assuming you meant in beach volleyball only.

After looking up some pics, its not that great at all. What makes it so famous or recognizable?
