An interesting chart from Skyscraperpage user Radley77:

"The following chart is meant to illustrate communities that have low crime, good commute times and pedestrian friendliness. I made this chart to compare against the Avenue Magazine best neighbourhoods survey which I belive is based on a Leger survey than actual metrics.

Also note that although the CBD\Beltline is relatively high for crime, there are 100,000+ people who work in the Centre City but do not live there."

It's not mine, but I'll see if I can get it sent to me.

Sure shows just how safe our city is. We really have it good here.

i'm not really up on all the different communities in calgary, but i have a hard time believing that bowness is #3

when i worked in calgary (waaaaaaay back in'97) we rented a place in bowness. the neighbourhood was nice enough but #3.... come on now.... has it changed a lot in the last 15 years (aside from getting older)??

I've lived in Calgary my entire life, having been born and raised here. I've lived in many different communities and currently reside in the SW community of Evergreen. I love this community. Very peaceful, very friendly, I'm a couple minutes away from Fish Creek Park, which I enjoy cycling through. Crime is very low. Love Evergreen!

Not to mention the easy access! You know, once you weave your way around Fish Creek on either 37th Street or McLeod, and then cut back over to 14th Street to get around the reservoir.... but after that you are minutes to anywhere!

OT: This reminds me of the sign at my home town 75th homecoming. My friends and I changed the welcome sign to: "Forestburg is hell welcome to it". Good times, good times...
