only 4 guys made 2.29m on their first try... Drouin being one of them!
Drouin hasn't missed at all and in de facto first place.
Mason missed on his first try.

that 150meter challenge at skydome was awesome.
"He's a chicken!" hahaha. Donovan Bailey was awesome.

FIFA has no credibility with me, I fully expect them to make the wrong decision and suspend a couple Canadian players.
Why should I expect any less from them when they blindy support officials who make horrible calls, and allow players to mock the sport by throwing themselves around like rag dolls.

The World champion (Russian) and the Olympic Champion (American) are out!
YES! Both Canadians are in!
There are 8 guys left!
Bar goes up to 2.33m
Drouin has no misses, Mason has 2 misses.
It's wide open now.

That was the best ever. Watching CBC and NBC (iirc) battle it out over who was actually the "fastest man in the world" was epic, especially since the Americans had the gall to try and claim that since Johnson's final 100m of the 200m race - from a running start at full speed - was slightly quicker than Bailey's 100m from a dead stop, Johnson was actually deserving of the title.
At the closing ceremonies that year, the Canadians unfurled an absolutely MASSIVE Canadian Flag, and half the athletes in the event were partying underneath it. The American networks did everything in their power to avoid showing the flag on TV. Every one of their cameras was pointed at the other side of Ted Turner Ego Field.

That was a ref who was out of her element and who was intimidated by Wambach. Legitimate strategy on her part, but as gutless as diving, really.

By "playing with fire", I mean holding the ball to 15-16 seconds, when the rule is 6 seconds. Did anyone time how long she had it before the penalty? I agree there should be a warning first. Did none of the Canadian players notice Wambach counting to the ref each time?
The Americans never had the lead until the very end, so I suppose that is why they would not get a delay of game call when Solo held the ball too long?

Nah, they were busy actually trying to win the game rather than influence the official. I know, I know, actually playing the sport you chose to participate in rather than pissing and moaning, what a concept!

The person telling the ref how to do her job over and over and over should have been carded.

Drouin and Mason both missed their first attempt of 2.33m Mason JUST BARELY as the bar rattled and then fell.
Only 2 of the 8 (American, Russian) made 2.33m on their first try.
2nd attempt coming up....

Everyone has missed their 2nd attempt at 2.33m
if everyone remaining misses at 2.33m Drouin might get bronze! or there would be some kind of jump off! We'll see!
Mason has come closer to making this height than Drouin

McLeod had the ball for 12 seconds from the time she stopped it while lying on the ground until it was released:
http://www.canadiansoccernews.com/co...-down-the-call
Of course, both her and Solo went over 6 seconds routinely as do most goalkeepers in any game. Somebody on the Voyageurs board supposedly reviewed the full game on DVR and concluded 10-15 seconds was normal for both: http://www.cansoc.org/showthread.php...l=1#post457983.

The way I read the tiebreaker, we get bronze:
http://www.london2012.com/athletics/...tition-format/
At the end of the competition, any ties are broken in favour of the athlete with fewest failures at the final height. If still tied, the athlete with the fewest total failures wins, and if still tied after that the tie stands, other than for first place, which is normally resolved by a jump-off.
