Yep. We traded in our 2005 XC90 (120k miles) for it and while that was comfortable it is nowhere near these seats. I've sat/drove the other new Volvos and the seats in the S60 are easily the best of the bunch. I've read several reviews that mention them as the most comfortable seat not just in it's class but ANY car. Just look at those seats (ours a fully black):
Hard to describe how comfortable that car is to drive other than I look forward to opening that door every morning and miss it when I get out.
Sorry to the OP I forgot about the budget. Though to be fair the S60 is a heck of a lot cheaper down here than in Canada. Also, due to some dealer desires to be the only Volvo dealership in the area we got a tremendous deal. Plus, they already had a buyer for the trade-in before we even walked into the dealership and they gave us a good deal on that as well. We looked for used but since the redesign a couple years ago it was extremely hard to find used and the ones we did find with 25k miles or so on them were only a few grand off the price we paid for the new one. Buying new was the better option for us in this case.
We are extremely happy with it so far as we were with the XC90.
Note: some may note it has hints of the new Ford Fusion (I think) in it. The S60 was the last design Ford did when they owned Volvo and if I understand correctly the same design team then went on to design the new Fusion. I have a friend who just bought a new Fusion and it seems a nice car for the class.
Also note that while we have the R-design whcih is torqued up and has the 3 litre 325hp engine, the S60 T5 model is also a nice drive and has the same comfort level. It lacks the AWD of the 3.0s and is 250 hp (compared to the base 3.0 which has 300hp and the R-design which is 325hp). It starts about 11k lower than the R-design and 5 or 6k lower than the base 3.0. T5 has a list price around $30k in the states. T5 starts at 38k in canada as I look at the website.
