1) Stay away from CBI (Canadian Back Institute) - this a WCB meat shop
2) In general, stay away from Panther clinics - they tend to be insurance shops, much like CBI
3) LifeMark clinics are generally good
4) McKnight Physio (Falconridge) seems to be good

I've never had any issues with Panther in cardel since I'ven been going there.

You should be looking for a good physio and not necesarily a good clinic. Most clinics will have some great physios, ok physios, and bad physios.

It just like people who ask for recomendation for a place to get their hair done. You should be more worried about the person doing the job rather than the shop they work in.

Old thread, but I feel it's still a pretty relevant question.

Anyone have a physio they highly recommend? Especially for knee injuries (particularly ACL)

Heather Doree at the Downtown Sports Clinic is excellent and has treated 3 or 4 different injuries for me. She also does acupuncture. They have two locations - she's on the 3rd floor of the Lancaster Bldg (above the Unicorn Pub).

If your injury is the ab muscle that connects down into your hip then I had the exact same injury last year and I was out for 8 months. Mostly becauase I just waited until I thought it had healed, played hockey again and really messed things up.

I went to physio at Talisman and a lady name Lisa looked after me. She was excellent. The only downside to her is she's from Vancouver and a huge Canucks fan.

Edit: I just noticed this was bumped...sorry about that.

Tower Physio in the base of the Calgary tower. Many olympic atheletes go there. I have been for a couple 'weekend warrior' injuries and have always had full recoveries with their help.

Lifemark at Father David Bauer Arena has always been good. They used to work with Hockey Canada when they were housed there as well as many of Calgary's WWF Wrestlers. I've had first hand experience with knee injury treatment there and they were excellent.

I have a friend who is a physiotherapist and she is an amazing. She continuously goes to courses to upgrade her skills. The latest course she did was to get the ability to order MRI scans and other types instead of going through doctors. She is very thorough and impressive and I highly recommend her.

Her name is Michelle and she has two clinics she works out of - Lakeview Physio http://www.lakeviewphysio.ca/ , Northhill Physio http://www.northhillphysio.ca/.

I see Corey Phillips at Panther Physio Clinic. He is really good, no complaints.

Upcoming ACL surgery in July; I'll need a physio as well.

Thinking of Westside Rec for convenience. Do you have to be a member there?

Any other recommendations for physio close by (SW - Aspen, Signal Hill area - that sort of area).

Timely bump.
Tore my achilles 5 weeks ago and I'm doing some research on physio therapists as I should be allowed to put weight on it again soon.

Any recommendations from folks who have had the unfortunate experience of this injury like me?

Guess replies could go here:
