Canada moves on to second round in men's beach v-ball, as a result of Norway beating GB.
edit: Canada can still win their group by beating Brazil.

You really can't say that unless they actually do so. Many of the Asian teams are under serious pressure from their governments to bring home medals (especially after the Beijing Games), and would do anything to bring home as many medals as possible.
It's not just China either, they also tossed competitors from South Korea and Indonesia. Were any non-Asian countries tossed after the investigation? Nope, the Chinese team caused all this because they didn't want to face each other in the semi-finals, but wanted a chance for them to both have guaranteed spots in the gold medal match.

Does this mean some round-eye honky actually has a chance to win in badminton?

That's a good point. I wonder why that is? I wonder if there is some info in previous posts that might explain why that'st he case.

So Canada's one of the beneficiaries of this disqualification, getting into the quarterfinals as a result. They won the first set against Australia, currently trailing in the second. (On TSN now).
Tied at 17!

Watching this makes it that China-Korea clip even more hillarious. Who did they think they were fooling?
This is rather entertaining btw. Reminds me of high school gym, but in a good way.

CTV: this gymnastics men's all-around is amazing too.. Ichimura has the gold locked up but there like a 7 way-tie for 2nd going into the last rotation. Who has the guts to win silver?
Tanaka just fell on the pommel horse... he's out.

How come badminton players can play with all the crowd noise, but tennis players can't?
Three match points!

Haha, thanks China!
Btw, were those BBC announcers? They really seemed to be in Australia's corner, so I can't see them working for CTV/TSN.

Canada did a great job about judging the deep plays and letting a lot of them go. I think there were about eight they judged right and only one they judged wrong.

I just assumed that they were the Australian announcers, given that they were about as pro-Australia as the CTV crews tend to be when covering Canadians. If they were British, it was pretty one-sided, but if they were Australian, I have no problem with them being so partisan.
edit: I wasn't paying attention, did they say when Canada's next match is?
