I think if Labbatt's put the money into the JLC then London could most defintely pull it off, better than Hamilton even. I can't see how putting an arena in Woodstock would work better than just putting it in London. The 401 goes to both anyhow.

I think because around Woodstock you would get Guelph - 121,688, Cambridge - 126,748, Waterloo - 98,780, Kitchener - 219,153, and likely some people from London.
You would also likely get Hamilton - 519,949, Missassauga -713,443 Brampton -523,911, Milton - 84,362 .
All these places are within 45 Mins of where the Arena would be.
That is a lot of population to draw from, whereas London is likely too far away for the later ones i mentioned.

In the off-chance this deal goes through. How long will it be before this story crops up again?
I'm giving an over under of four years and an offseason. 4.5 years. And that's with a league favorable CBA agreement.

*IF* a deal goes through, I give an over-under of less than one year before this issue pops up again. I give an over-under of 4 years before the team moves.

I guess Jamison has another 10 mos. to raise the rest of his money. Meanwhile the NHL will have to absorb all loses.

*News*-- #SN John Shannon reports the NHL has extended the Glendale #Coyotes lease agreement for another month. #nosurprise
So there was a July 31st deadline?
NHL to renew Phoenix arena deal for another month
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle4451459/
Glendale city council will be told Tuesday at an in-camera meeting that the NHL will renew its operating agreement for the Phoenix Coyotes arena for another 31 days as part of its effort to unload the financially crippled team.

Maybe it's my Tuesday morning haze, but does that mean Doan's leaving? Or does that mean he's taking an offer from Jamison?
If it's now looking good the Coyotes will stay, didn't Doan want that?

given that jamison is still $20m short to buy the team, and doan is apparently looking for a 4 yr/$30m deal - i'd guess doan is moving on.
the question is which team is crazy enough to give doan that term and that kind of money. he is looking for a 67% raise over the $4.5m he was paid last year....must be nice to not have to make due with measely 2.0% to 6.0% increases......

Bruce Sprinsgteen has added a December date at Jobing. Hocking says Glendale can't attract other events without the Coyotes?

Yes, Phoenix is a big market. It is a big market with many arenas. I would think that if attracting more events was so easy, they would have done it already. Though one simply can't overestimate Jerry Moyes' and the COG's incompetence.
Your math may be off a little on the comparison, as concert setups usually have lower capacities than sporting events. i.e.: Garth Brooks' Saddledome concert was a sellout at 16,000 or so. Also, the straight comparison of revenue generation doesn't tell the whole story, since Bruce Springsteen gets most of that money, not the arena managers.

Moving on where? Nobody is going to give a 36-year-old player in decline $7.5 million a year. Are those numbers a misquote?

^^^ My links suggest Jobing seats 19,000 for concerts. I'm sure that varies depending on the stage set-up. You get the main point, and I agree with your qualifiers.
