One 10-year old girl from Edmonton actually does good
http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/07...n_1711760.html
Quote:
A 10-year-old girl recovering from a rare form of cancer has made an unusual request to the Make-A-Wish foundation. . . . But she says it's her dream to volunteer at an orphanage. . . . The girl says she just wants to help people and make them feel loved.

For a great story, that's a pretty dumb title

Change the thread title. Not funny.

At 10 years old that kid is a better person than I could ever possibly be.
Edit: yeah just a stupid title but good for you for posting it as I otherwise would have never heard about it.

If you were to poll 1000 10 year olds on what they would choose, 999 would choose something for their own enjoyment. It's too bad that this amazing little girl is in such a tough battle for her life. Why can't we bottle these diseases up and save them for the Colorado shooter or Montreal killer.

Does make a wish mean your odds are super low compared to other sick children?

I always thought it was for terminally ill kids, but she seems to be recovering

My friend isn't terminally ill, but has a disease that puts her in a wheelchair for the rest of her life and make a wish also helped her out. So I don't think you need to be terminally ill for them to help you.

That would probably be the case for every other year old too. I know I'd be riding the Selfish train to Me-ville.
