I am not an expert on biking but so far the bike has suited my needs. The only thing I might suggest is buying a better bike seat. The one you currently get with this bike hurts the butt.

Any suggestions on a mountain bike in the $1200 range?
I've been told to get 29" wheels and hydraulic brakes. I'm not a serious offroader, but do need something more rugged than my road bike for the odd trail in the Kananaskis and around town when it's raining.
I bought a new Mtn bike and 4 km in on Goat Creek trail in Banff and my front tire bursts
Not a great start to what was a relatively large purchase
