Erin McLeod always look so shaky in early matches. I'm not sure Herdman will have much of that before he decides to switch over to LeBlanc in other matches.

I feel bad for the Canadian Women's Soccer team, the media always seems to hype them up like they are supposed to be a medal favorite and then when they don't live up to the "hype" people call them chokers.
They are a good team but in no way are they a top tier team. They are still a step below the top teams like the U.S., Japan, Brazil, Sweden, France, & Germany.

It's especially tough for Sinclair. She's one of the best players in the world, but she can't carry the whole team on her back. She gets double and triple marked.
It's nice to see some secondary players stepping up, Sessleman especially. But it'll be awhile before they can hit the level of many of those teams you mentioned.
It's really too bad Lang had to retire early. She and Sinclair would have been a dynamic one-two punch for a number of years.
As I type that...nice set up by Sinclair to Tancredi to cut Japan's lead in half.

There's been a lot of stuff in the media about the 8000 torches for 2012. They cost £500 to make and initially the 8000 torch carriers were told they had to buy them if they wanted to keep them. Then it got bad press so the Government u-turned and gave them to the carriers for free, the bad press was mainly down to people calling into radio shows and appearing on TV saying it was awful they could not keep their torch as it was so special to them...
Anyways, most of the 2012 torches that have been sold, the money has gone to charity... That is cool with me. However, the people who moaned about having to pay for the torches and then sold them for profit are just utter aholes.
This one sold for £150,400!

...which is why you should probably wait till the end of the matches before comments on who "officially" is the worse.

The North Korean Women's team walked off the pitch and did not return for over an hour. When the team was introduced on the scoreboard, there was a graphic of the South Korean flag.

I read that the opening ceremony will include Lord Voldemort possibly taking on Bond, James Bond but gets a taste of his own medicine courtesy of Ms Poppins's spoonful of sugar. The ever judicious Sir Paul McCartney yelling out 'remember to let her into your heart then you can start to make things better'...
With London Calling for a Brief History of Britain, Danny Boyle finds Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland and Shakespeare in the park. God save the Queen by the Sex Pistols? The ceremony will certainly be Isles of Wonder.

Greek athlete expelled from Olympics for racist tweet
Quote:
Hellenic Olympic Committee officials announced Voula Papachristou wouldn't travel to London after she tweeted a joke about African immigrants.
On Monday, the track athlete posted a tweet reading, "with so many Africans in Greece, at least the West Nile mosquitos will be eating food from their own home." The comments created an uproar on Greek social media. Papachristou didn't address the criticism on Twitter for two days.
Greece later announced it would place Papchristou "outside the Olympic team for statements contrary to the values and ideas of the Olympic movement."

McLeod has a bad habit of playing too reckless I would prefer LeBlanc she is more steady.
McLeod definitely cost her team the second goal. Real poor challenge.

Soccer shocker. Japan men's team beat Spain 1-0. Japan forward Yuki Otsu broke away from his marker during a corner kick in the 34th minute and the ball landed right at his feet for a quick tap-in past Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.

Looks like 2012 London Olympic is the Twitterville Saga. Another athlete got booted out after the racist comment on Twitter. Come on, this is getting ridiculous... most of us made some jokes on Twitter, Facebook or emails. It's all for fun and nothing serious about it. Not sure what this last athlete says but it better be an awful comment to warrant getting the boot.

The tweet in question was racist, and also called South Korean people "######s" and that they should "burn themselves". Player in question is from the Swiss soccer team. Twitter is truly like a can of kerosene and matches, just a disaster waiting to happen.
