I quite liked this movie. Minor complaints:

I could not understand half of Bane's dialogue.

Wouldn't a nuclear bomb going off 6 miles out to sea, still be really, really bad for Gotham? Everyone reacted like this was totally no problem.

Why wouldn't the police don armor before wading into battle with Bane's army?

Why were all the bad criminals held in the same prison, in the middle of the city?

It was a fusion bomb so it wouldn't have nearly the same amount of radioactive fallout as a fission bomb.

Yeah that was pretty annoying. Not sure why they went that route and wrecked his mouth.

I don't think they had time to get armour as the bomb was going to get off. But that was pretty annoying too. Guys with batons vs guys with machine guns. At least let them get to an 'armory' and let them reload.

Those aren't even the really bad criminals. Those guys are ALL holed up in one Arkham Asylum... hehehe So much drama though.

Saw it again tonight. Enjoyed it more this time as I decided to forget all the plot holes. Nolan's storytelling is absolutely terrific. The movies score is fantastic. Hans Zimmer is an amazing artist.
Never had a problem with Bane's dialogue nor did the people I watched it with. Loved it.

Empire Theatre IMAX sound is far superior to that of Chinook. The audio experience was vastly different.

I don't know what it was, but Bane came across crystal clear to me. Infact, he actually came across as much louder than the people talking around him. I could understand him just fine.

As far as the Body armor thing - where were the police going to find it?

I've kinda watched the series in reverse order the last couple days. Went and watch TDKR, and then went back and watch Beigins and TDK.

I have to say I actually like TDKR much better then the first one now. People that are complaining about plot holes need to realize they have been there the entire series. I even found some of the stuff in the first movie way more cheesy then anything in TDKR. (Ex. Batman calling like a million bats into the warehouse to help him escape from the SWAT team, with a little sonar in his shoe)

Anyway, I really do love this series. I think it will find its place like Star Wars original trilogy and Lord of the Rings as movies that I will rewatch again and again.

That's not cheesy! That's brilliant! Not to mention the fact that, like many other things in the series, it is directly from Batman Year One, which IMO is the best Batman story ever.

I went to the trilogy marathon and I agree with MattyC, it was the best way to view the films. I'll go ahead and say that I still like the first one best but the entire trilogy is really something special. Nolan has accomplished something very great with these films and he's changed the comic book film industry. Batman is the gold standard by which all comic book films are judged. I mean, I am not someone who goes to see a movie multiple times in theatres but I've seen Batman Begins 5 times and The Dark Knight 4 times now. I wouldn't go see these movies so many times in theatres if I didn't really enjoy them. Even though I expected TDKR to go in a different direction story wise doesn't mean I thought it was a terrible movie or that I hated it. I still plan on seeing it again (in Imax) because for the most part it was done well and I did enjoy watching it.

I would really love to know what Nolan's original plan would have been for a third movie had Ledger not died. Would they have done more than 3 movies? I guess we'll never know.

The only really big plothole for me was the whole faked death. How did Bruce know he was going to get a chance to carry the bomb out of Gotham to make it look like he'd been blown up by it, if the whole plan was to re-attach the the core and disarm it?

He didn't know, and likely didn't plan to fake his death. It was a spur of the moment idea.

Bruce lost Rachel because he was Batman, he didn't want to lose another opportunity for having a normal life. When Selina wants him to come with her he wants to and the only way for that to be possible is for Batman to die, Bruce can never only be Bruce while Batman is still in the picture.

It really seems like Nolan, his brother and Goyer took a lot influences from TDKR, Year One, Long Halloween/Dark Victory, Arkham Asylum (the comic not the VG), Knightfall, The Killing Joke and who knows how many others but based on the stuff I recognized I'd say those were the main ones.

It was really cool to see various scenes or aspects of the character that were ripped directly from the comic book and fused with Nolan's own unique vision of Batman.

You need to read Cataclysm which is where a massive 9.0 earthquake wipes out gotham and then the after math of that in No Mans Land. All the bridges are blown out and no none is allowed to leave the island of Gotham. hmmm it's actually sound alot like DMZ which is the vertigo graphic.

One of the best story arcs ever for Batman and the ending which is pretty awesome. I must have read both of these over 10 times.
