Default Bagels in Calgary

What are some of the best bagel shops in CGY?

And in particular, has anyone seen pumpernickel bagels in this city?
They do sell them in Toronto, but I have yet to see them here.

Isn't there a bagel place on the southeast corner of Heritage and Elbow? Or is it Southland?
Sorry I can't give feedback... as much as I LOVE bagels; too many carbs

Yeah, that's Heritage and Elbow...I can't remember the name either, but they are awesome.

Wayne's Bagels at Calgary Farmers Market are recommended. Don't know if they have pumpernickel, though.

Do those places carry bialys? Personally I prefer those over a traditional bagel.....same great taste without that density.

I can confirm the bagel place in the Farmer's Market off Blackfoot & 71st does have pumpernickel bagels. They are quite good although I prefer the more classic varieties.

Montreal Bagels is the place to go. Wood fire oven in the shop. Cash only.

Edit: Eat the bagels while they are fresh and still hot, they don't age well.

Never been, nor seen anyone at Montreal Bagel at Elbow/Heritage.

Our friends are convinced it's a mafia front.

We go for lunch every so often, pretty steady stream of people coming and going. As was said, it's a cash business. People usually just come in, grab their bagels, and are gone in a couple minutes.

Their bagels & lox is pretty good for lunch.
