Default Where to take desktop for repair

Went to log on this morning and I'm getting errors saying my system fan has failed.... service PC continue. The fans have been making some pretty gnarly noises for quite some time so I'm not too surprised. Anyhow, can someone recommend where to take it for new fan install? Does future shop still do repair work?

memory express is going to be the best place.

Do you clean your PC regularly with compressed air?

Should be very couple of months(I think), I don't clean mine regularly either.

About 3 weeks ago my PC was running at 80C, at least that's what the reading came up as, my fans were making strange noises. I sprayed all the dust out of there and my temp monitor changed to 40C and the odd fan noise stopped.

I second Memory Express, that place is the best for all your computer needs. A quick replacement, and your back up and running.

Yeah, don't take it to Futureshop. Go to Memory Express because if there's something wrong, like you need a new fan or something, they've got more than enough parts so you can pick and chose what you'd like them to use as a replacement. I'm sure Futureshop doesn't have that kind of inventory and will most likely charge a pretty penny for something.

I'm a long time supporter of Memory Express but I wouldn't expect a fast repair with them unless you pay their fee for express service, everything else gets pushed to the back.

Every time I have brought something to them it's been 3 days. Annoying, but not unreasonable considering the volume of systems they work on.

3 days for a fan change seems long, I realize they go in order but I'm sure you can find something better than that

^ Agreed, but half the places in the city will have him walking out with a new motherboard/CPU/memory and the other half will charge him $300 for the fan and some bull crap virus removal.

To the OP - if you are comfortable enough with it, try doing the job yourself. There is a ton of experienced and helpful people that frequent this forum and pc repairs don't get a lot easier than a fan replacement.

Thanks for help. I took it to Memory Express a couple days ago.

Yeah I have actually replaced fans myself in the past, but don't have time right now to do it. Just wanna get it fixed and running asap.
