Default Ride Share Vancouver Aug 10,11,12

Mods I was not sure what thread to post this in... move if needed...

I am looking for a ride from Calgary to Vancouver August 10th, 11th, or 12th.

Not sure if anyone might be heading that direction on those dates and wants to share the cost of gas.

I am a mid 20's, clean individual.

Moving out to Vancouver and will only have 1 large backpack and 1 small backpack as luggage.

I am happy to split the cost of fuel and I am more then happy to buy coffees along the way.

Willing to meet in person any time before hand.

If you dont mind greyhound, sometimes you can get a really good deal if you book enough in advance. I believe 21+ days is the advanced discount. The 16 hour bus trip isnt too bad if you do it on an overnight run as well.

I can't help you but I almost wish CP had a full time thread on stuff like this. I have family in both Kelowna and Regina and hate driving by myself. Using kijiji seems like a surefire way to end up stuffed in several garbage bags.

It'd be nice to be able to just hitch a ride and split the gas.

Is flying not an option? You can get there in under 90 minuts for about $165.

Sometimes driving is more fun, but you couldn't pay me enough to spend 16 hours on a Greyhound.

Not sure if you'd be interested in this or not, but Via Rail has last minute deals. Edmonton-Vancouver is ~50% off for August 12th, around $160. Cons are you still need to get to Edmonton, pros are the train through the mountains should be a neat experience.

interesting... I have always wanted to take a train through the mountains here... I did it just a couple months ago in northern Vietnam and it was pretty sweet, but the Rockies...

Whole point is to save money though since I am moving out there and going on a 10 day road trip the day I arrive... lol... So might have to save this for another time...
