That quarterback could have had the first down if he didn't try to avoid the hit. Turtled as soon as he felt contact.

That's why you kick the ball deep. Your D has been great. Kick it instead of going for it on 3rd and long. There was lots of time left.

Edit: Brink is brutal. Needs to get rid of the ball a lot faster and stop going deep on every second throw

American football fans will be able to watch this year's historic Grey Cup game without actually being there.

The 100th Grey Cup will air live in the U.S. in November on the NBC Sports Network.

The CFL says NBC will also carry nine-regular season games as well as the East and West Division semifinals and finals, picking up TSN's coverage of the games.

"We're proud to share one of the biggest events in the long and storied history of our league with our fans south of the border," CFL commissioner Mark Cohon said in a statement. "A U.S. telecast agreement with NBC Sports Network, will help us market our league in the U.S., recruit import players, and spread our brand of football."

Can't say that I've ever been a huge fan of a league commish before, for any sport, but Cohon has been excellent for the CFL.

Dirty play by Mitchell. He'll be fined for sure. Twists the Eskimo's arm around him and the elbow bent the wrong way

To add: he should be suspended but doubt he actually will be. Twitter was exploding with player reactions exclaiming how dirty that was

I missed that play but the TSN panel was talking about it today(Saturday-Ham-Mtl halftime show). I always thought Khalif Mitchell is a dirty player. Too bad he can be a dominating DLine but he plays dirty. I can't remember what he did to Burris one time but i think he kicked him or something on a late hit. I think that ends Burris night and Lions ended up winning. I can't remember the details.
Yeah I hope they suspend him for 3 games. No need for that type of player in the league.

I'll take Ken Wiebe's word over his word since he was actually at Winnipeg practice this morning.

Honestly, I'm hoping he appeals and gets to play against Calgary this weekend... then has to serve his two game suspension. Not sure if that can happen though - I really don't know how the CFL appeal process works

The Bill Belicheat wannabe Mike Benevides was on TEAM1040 tonight, said he was disappointed in the suspension and backed his player all the way saying it was a football play.

Doug Brown is also defending this POS writing on his twitter, a 2 game suspension for Khaliff Mitchell is 1 game too many. After all, it never would have happened if he wasn't being held illegally. He also wrote, read my column tomorrow. Havin a 300 lb'er draped illegally all over ur back is almost as dangerous to a defender as what Mitchell did.

"#BCLions appeal of Mitchell suspension, wont be well received, but not a suprise. Did the same thing with Jiminez. Wally is old school "-- Farhan LaljI (@FarhanLaljiTSN)

As a fan attending the game on Saturday I am somewhat happy. Mitchell is a darn good DT and it's always fun to see the best in action. However he fully deserves his suspension and I really hope that it stands after the appeal.

Hopefully they give him an extra game for not taking his punishment like a man.

ive been tough on the bombers this season only cuz i want them to win the cup so bad. probably too tough. the injuries they're dealing with is nearly unprecedented. they're missing nearly half their roster and a bunch of important starters. le sigh. 1st overall pick next year wahoo lol

Not to mention, they let a lot of key players walk via free agency or made trades that likely hurt more than helped (so far). For me though, they need to find themselves a starting QB. Buck is always hurt and I don't think Brink is a starter, decent back up imo.

I'm guessing we will find out after the Saskatchewan practice this morning.
