Default The Open Championship at Royal lytham

The second biggest golf major of the year (biggest in the eyes of many) starts in a couple days, and its pretty difficult to gauge who has the best shot of taking it this year. The weather and wind will be the main factor as per usual.

As much as I would like to see Tiger return to greatness at this one, my money is going to be on either Westwood or Mcilroy. As is often the case though, the winner will likely be someone completely unexpected.

The Open in North America typically has the least hype of all majors because of the viewing times, but it has always been one of my favourites. Hope its a good one.

Ernie Els. The Big Easy has done well at this course, former Open champion and playing good golf again this year.

Weather is everything this week. Royal Lytham isn't a particularly hard course (last 3 Open winners there were double digits under par), but of course thats assuming the weather doesn't get ugly.

My money is on Westwood. As long as it is not Tiger I will be happy. It would be nice if Phil could pull out a miracle, but he does not really have the game for an Open.

Graeme McDowell, Ben Curtis, or Luke Donald.

Luke Donald? That's a bold pick. He's never come close to challenging for a major. There's something about him not living up to expectations at big tournaments.

There is supposed to be a UK wide clearing of weather later on in the week. Rain until Thursday but the weekend "could" be dry and relatively clear. If the Open was this past weekend, no one would have broken par.

Course looking mighty easy this morning. Could maybe see someone take a run at the elusive 62 in a major.

ABC/ESPNs graphics are way too small. I'm going to go blind trying to read these scores.

This is golf! There's no movement! You can have big graphics!

A lot of quality players at the top of the leaderboard. Scott typically flounders on the weekend doesn't he?? Would interested if he makes a go of it though. Not sure about Bubba. This championship, and course in particular, is all about the tee shot, and Bubba is a little too wild off the tee for my liking. I like McDowell's chances.

Just watched todays coverage- Tiger could have easily been 6 under or so. His putter just went quiet after 7 holes and he 2 putted everything. Was hitting the ball extremely well.

Curious to see what the wind does tomorrow.

Well, Mcilroy put himself out of the equation with a +5.

Phil's game is a mess.

Brandt Snedeker first to double digits and with a 4-shot lead currently.

Rory needs to dump this tennis broad he is with, quit partying, and start focusing on golf.

Phil needs to decide if he even wants to play anymore.

Obviously would be very interesting to see Tiger and Adam Scott tomorrow.
