I swear Rogers is trolling us Calgarians just for fun. We had Roger Millions doing Flames pbp and people complained. So they go and replace him with Loubo. People complained even more, and they replaced him with Kerr. Now people are complaining even more than the Loubo days. The next logical step is for them to replace Kerr with Bryn. I think CP might explode if that happens.
And a funny thing is all four of them have roots in Edmonton (CFRN TV and radio, in fact).
I heard Loubo during..eh..well it was the draft I think? I miss his energy and quirky ways. #sadpanda
Loubo was on our local Shaw channel in lethbridge doing minor league baseball PBP... Glad he has work, but I found it pretty sad to see how far he's fallen now.

He was also at the draft on behalf of NHL Network.
Yeah that bothers me to hear that likwid.. sigh. I grew to absolutely love the dude--can't watch the broadcasts anymore. I stick with the FAN now.. can't stand Kerr. (well.. Kerr is okay, but Loubo was awesome)
Edit: Reading the above posts and remembering I did hear him during the draft.. with the knowledge that he is a total sports guy, perhaps thinking of him falling from 'grace' is a bit much--he strikes me as a guy who would do it for the love and passion of it.
Loubo.. we miss you buddy.

Listening to the FAN right now, waiting for the Backlund interview. Steinberg just tears into Bryn constantly. Almost feel sorry for the poor dude. It's pretty obvious that Pat doesn't think too much of the guy.

It's just a silly act put on to try and make things interesting. The show has become so hockey focussed you swear the season is still going. How about some baseball, CFL, or NFL training camp talk every now and then?
In regards to Flames PBP I still believe Millions was the best of the bunch by a longshot. It's got progressively worse since then.

His job is to be entertaining and informative. He achieves neither. He's bad at his job. And whether or not I could do it better (Which I could), 'you couldn't do what he does every day' is a horrific argument. I can't do what Stajan does, it doesn't mean he should be a Calgary Flame. Bryn Griffiths should not be employed for the purposes of entertainment.

Millions was great. Had a good voice for the game. Knew when to get excited, and when to hold back. His only real flaw was constantly commenting about the lack of penalty calls. Which, based on the standard of officiating at the time, was a legitimate comment.

or information, you forgot that he should also be informative.
I have gotten in the habit of listening to Peter Maher do the games on 960 whenever I can. The guy is a legend an he is not going to be around forever. Also Mike Rogers is better than any colour man currently on TV.
I have gotten so used to the time delay that I am at the point where I actually prefer it that way. When I hear Pete call a goal, big hit, great save that is when I know to look up at the TV and enjoy the great play that I know is about to happen.
My advice is listen to Pete call the game every chance you get. Because in 20 years from now there will be a post that begins with, If only we could just bring Peter Maher back.

If you listened online, the radio would be delayed a bit. Then you could pause your TV slightly to sync the two up.
I hate to bump this thread, but the last 2 weeks with Rob Kerr filling in on the afternoon show has been miles better than what the afternoon show has been putting out for the last year.
Kerr isn't perfect, and yes him and Steinberg step all over each other non stop but at least he has an opinion about things and brings some passion.
It's been nice not to have to hear Bryn repetitively say "yeah...ummm...I don't know...I just...umm...Patty, I'm not sure..."
And the flip side is that Steinberg hasn't been disagreeing with someone who doesn't really have an opinion on anything.

I've found myself tuning in to the afternoon show a lot more during the past few weeks with Kerr subbing in. It's definitely a noticeable improvement.

Honest question here: Do Flames fans dislike hearing Kerr do the PBP because they are used to hearing his voice on the radio?
Because I'm not from Calgary and I only listen to post-game shows on Fan960 the odd time, but I really don't see why people have a hate on for Kerr's PBP.
