I didn't know he plays in Vegas in a sit-down slower paced style show. I saw Garth Brooks Concert and just thought that it would be a Garth Brooks Concert, first thing that pops into my mind is some fireworks, explosions, load music and him jumping around "ain't going down till the sun comes up" kinda thing. If I had been so inclined I would have bought (tried) tickets and assumed that's what I was going to see.

I saw the Vegas show a couple of years ago. Entertaining, but if you paid anything above $62 for tonight's show you'll be absolutely pissed (As I paid the US$250 for the Vegas show, I was disappointed afterwards). I would definately be interested in his next show here with full touring band in 2-3 years as indicated in the following article.

From what I can tell the show was never really "promoted" in either manner. The Stampede issued few press releases basically "Garth Brooks to headline the 100th anniversary of the Stampede" and then tickets sold out immediately, so no real "advertising" was ever done.

The only thing I can find claiming a "full band" performance is from this edmonton radio station:

It was mentioned a lot here on CP, I think that's the reason a lot here got that impression. I was mentioned by a few people in a debate as to why the show sold out so quick and why it would be worth so much to scalpers.

I'm not sure who the original culprits were... but I'll be boiling some tar and ripping apart some pillows for when the thread has been pulled up...

Its quite obvious that this is just a plan to have scalpers drop ticket prices and lose out on money.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, I mean it's not rocket science, either there's 3-4 other musicians and their gear to set up on stage... or there isn't.

It's not like Garth is just gonna show up to the dome in a cab & start pulling amps & a drum kit outta the trunk. "Oh yeah, the other guys are taking the train"
