Not to be too much of a dick, but if I remember correctly you were the person who got extremely offended during the Alberta Election when someone posted a Downfall video making fun of a Wildrose meltdown, yet you somehow believed that was designed to suggest the Wildrose are Nazi's. So I guess while I may not have known the difference between a budget and trade deficit, I would rather be misinformed than to be too obtuse to get the joke.
We could go back and forth with the personal attacks, but where is that gonna get us? We could probably examine each others post history's and go on forever, and that gets us where exactly? And for the record, while I may have been wrong, I still haven't seen any facts from you to support that the deficit is declining. Not saying it isn't, but it's also good to back up your claims.

Jacks said something about "Right, that makes every Conservative stupid". I simply posted the study as an observation, nowhere in my post does it say I think it is. I put up a website suggesting hunters have small junk when that David Booth story broke not because I think its true, its just something humours to ponder.

Calling your opponent a Nazi is weak and old. If you don't want to be a dick then why bring that up in the first place?

Now feel free to post any evidence to back up your claims.

I think it'd be kinda pointless for me to back up the facts that I've already stated I got wrong. But I did provide links to my (incorrect) claims, and thats all I ever ask. Saying something without proof makes it hard to have a reasonable debate. I could always go and make something up though...

Now, the debt is increasing, naturally. It will continue to do so until the deficit is converted into a surplus.

Or you could just shut your pie hole as you have pretty well destroyed this thread which was to be about a different topic. No wonder these poor scientists can't catch a break as they can't even keep a thread relevant past a single page.

No occupation catch one if threads were derailed as fast as they are on CP then.

Thanks for the insightful post Ponch. I think this thread was clearly established when it was posted: The Conservative defenders are here to defend, and the people who hate Harper are here to do their thing. This thread was always going this way, because thats ultimately what this is: The CPC is choosing to cut funding for scientific research. And we debate why this is happening and how we feel about it. Just saying "It's bad" is to me stupid. Why is it bad? Thats what we debate. The entirety of the Harper Government is worth examining because it gives context as to why they are doing this. When spending for other things increase, and these things get cut, it's completely fair to ask whether this is responsible.
Did it get a little off track? For sure, but for criticizing me for derailing the thread, making a post that only serves to likely further derail the thread seems kinda strange.

At some sort of effort to try and get the thread back on track. Why is it bad?
I've just glanced at the first slide in the cbc link.
"and gives the federal cabinet the final say in approving industrial projects that significantly impact the environment"
is (if I'm interpreting things right) just a roundabout way of saying that the Environmental Assessment act, the Species at Risk act, the fisheries act to mention a few are now basically worthless as tools in protecting environmental integrity when they can simply be overuled at the cabinet level for whatever reason is deemed fit.
Why don't we just exterminate all acts?

But it is on topic. He put forward evidence, then took a position counter to that evidence due to how it went counter to an ideology he had.
I kid, I kid. I do kinda find it funny tho.

GOAT!

Well the good news is that, after reading through all of this, I can no longer remember what the original point of the thread was. Something about a hidden deficit incurred through the trading of underpaid Canadian scientists for Nazi Environmentalists who are resistant to change?
Crazy. Wait till I tell everyone at the office about this in the morning. They're never going to believe it!
