This is about getting a controllable player for a longer term. Booth is still RFA aged so I can re-up him after this season for another 3 on an RFA contract while Kelly is UFA after this season and will cost too much. MacDonald and Prosser played pretty much equivalently last season, although Mac is slightly more experienced.

Leaves a bit of a hole in my lineup currently but that's what UFA is for.

My forward group is starting to look semi decent for a change. Like the Flames though, I am a bit lacking in the middle.

Greene and Hainsey are more or less equal but the opportunity to get Bystrom who I would've taken 31st in this past draft instead of Dansk or Matteau was important to me. Losing Gordon sucks but it's Ravi, so you know that he wouldn't be on any other team for long. Thanks for the talks.

Thanks to the Panthers for the quick and easy deal! We like Greene and his defensive presence, he is signed for 2 years which is an added bonus. Coda Gordon is a Duck which means we have most of the Flames prospects taken in the last draft!

We also save 1 million in cap space which was huge because we actually forgot we had to sign Henrik Zetterberg to a UFA contract.

He's got 4 of them, Benn and 3 guys named UFA Center. There should be a way to distinguish them.
