Nothing to do with the Dub. He wouldn't even qualify for the WHL next season (as far as I know...) He has proved he can play very, very well in against boys, but hasn't proved what he can do aganst men. 5 games isn't proving anything. It wouldn't hurt his development to season him with the Heat for a year. That being said I would love to see Sven inked into the 3rd line with Backs and Stemps like Calgary4Life said, with room for expansion.

Sven should start with the big club. The Flames need to get off to a good start for the up coming season. I believe the youthful enthusiasm will prove to be beneficial and contagious to the rest of his team mates.

I know lots of people want to start him at 3 rd line, but to give him confidence you could slot him on the second. I guess it depends on his camp

And no, we don't have the depth to roll three scoring lines.
I dunno about that.

Tanguay-Cammalleri-Iginla
Glencross-Cervenka-Hudler
Baertschi-Backlund-Stempniak

Looks like 3 scoring lines to me. You could mix and match. Not much size there but there's enough skill for 3 scoring lines this year more than any year I'd say.

Start Bartschi on the 3rd line, if injuries or lack of scoring occur and he's playing well, switch him into the top 6. Simple as that.

Looks pretty solid to me. Hopefully all three players on the top lines average 60-80 points. Then 3-4 of the players on the 2nd and 3rd lines average 40-60 points. If we can accomplish that, the Flames will be in an excellent position offensively.

With the line-up more solidified, where do you guys want/think Baertschi will end up to start the season?

Hoping for a pairing with Backlund and Stempniak. Baertschi has all the tools to become a legit offensive threat and would be good for Backlund's offensive game, Stempniak would be a good RWer for Sven too and if the line could find early chemistry I wouldn't be surprised if Stempniak flirted with 27 goals again, especially if Sven comes in ready to play like he was last year.

Oh and also - Sven "Fricken" Baertschi

I think Baertschi's ideal spot in the lineup is on the 3rd line, but on more of a offensive minded line. If he succeeds or has a hot streak don't be afraid to bump him up to the 2nd line or on the PP. Please don't play him with plugs like Jackman or Jones. His skill level isn't suited for the dump and chase kind of game.

Baertschi Backlund Glencross/Stempniak

Thats why I think it would be in our best interest to acquire 1 more top 6 forward so we can bump Glencross back to the 3rd line to play with both youngsters. All though he sometimes can be hot headed and take stupid penalties he is generally a good defensive player.

I like it.
Three lines that seem like they can score.
