Incredible signing. I was hoping he could be had at less than $4/season, but what a huge boon to our 2nd and 3rd lines.

Wow!!!

The question now is what position does he play for the flames? His best season point wise was last year but he played mostly wing.

Do they see him as a 2nd line center?

I approve of this signing!

Now bring in Mueller and this Free Agency period will be a massive success, with Wideman, Hudler and Mueller!

Not knowing the whole cap situation in Calgary and how he will fit in, but I like this signing for Calgary. He was a player I was hoping the Canucks could get.

The hell? People are happy with a Flames signing? Good move. Kinda surprised he came here though.

5'9
28 years old
25g 25a in 81 games last year.

I've seen him listed as both a C and a winger before. Usually plays on the wing though doesn't he?

Very interesting. I was not expecting this. Not sure yet how I feel yet, never watched him too closely when he was with Detroit. Can't argue with getting a skilled guy, I hope.

I just remember him being destroyed by Phaneuf a few years back.

Like it. Skilled player can help us with secondary scoring and also gives us a deadly pp.

I think we will live to hate this one. I'm normally very pragmatic, but having him in various hockey pools (I know, I know) he can be very frustrating. Maybe I should just not pick him anymore and he well be fine...

Huh. I've never thought of him as a C.

There a chance that he's been promised an opportunity as our #1C?
