Another Shooting at Vietnamese Restaurant - 1 Dead, 3 Injured
Around 2 a.m. Sunday, shots were fired inside the Basil Ultimate Pho and Fine Vietnamese Cuisine, 2770 32 Ave. N.E., which is one of nine units in a strip mall called Centre 32.
Three men, who are in their 30s and 40s, were found with gunshot wounds. One man was declared dead at the scene, while two others were transported to a local hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

holy crap! I was just there on last week for Sate beef noodle. Better stay out of NE for now... at least places Viets frequent. Maybe another gang war is brewing.

There is a viet place open until 2am? good thing i didn't know about it last nite as I had to pick up my brother from the airport at 130am and thought my only option was McDonalds.

I just picked up some Vietnamese take-out.
Came home unscathed.
A quick in and out.
I think we should champion an "in out vietnamese" kind of like "in out burger"
Much safer.

Be careful, it's sacrilegious to suggest that there are bad areas in Calgary. when this absurd suggestion is made, the level headed (usually northeast/forestlaw residing) Calgary residents are quick to remind us that all Calgary communities are equal, with equal amounts of crime.

Nah they close at like 8 PM. I went in there once at 7:30 to grab some sate beef pho (which I think is the best in the city by the way), and I got the stink eye for coming even that late.
Must have been something else going on at 2 AM.
Basil's always been kind of sketchy. Huge difference between this shooting at the one at Bolsa IMO. The Bolsa owners are just a sweet old couple, it happened during business hours, and they were victims too. Meanwhile you just have to sit at Basil for an hour or so to figure out that pho isn't their #1 source of income.
