Doesn't matter.

A drunk driver on a motorcycle is less likely to do as much damage as one in a semi.

What a terrible comparison.

A big dog has the capability of severely injuring a person. A small dog has the capability of being annoying.

Maybe the little s**t deserved what he got? Maybe it was being super annoying and attacking the mastif and the mastif just decided to put a stop to it.

Not saying this is what happened but to be honest many a time I've felt like giving one of those little yappy rats a swift kick in the balls.

Sometimes the little dogs get away with way more than a bigger dog would.. and their owners let them....
If super annoying deserves a death penalty, you would have died off on CP a few years back.

Small dogs can do plenty of damage. He's stating one bad thing isn't the same as the exact same bad thing. Which in context, sure, I can agree with - but for making a valid point it's not at all the same. You can't say having a bad dog is okay if it is of "x many pounds" or "the bite results in minor skin breakage or stitches".

In the general context of it a bad dog is a bad dog and should be judged the same way as any other dog.

How big are these dogs? Are they like mutant dogs that are as big as a liger?

There is this little Jack Russell shathead dog down the street that attacked mine when it got out. Knocked down my two year old and scraped up its face. Wish I was there to put it through the uprights. Would be a bit fun to actually punt a dog, not sure how far it would go cause of the squishyness would absorb the boot.

It would be a bit fun to punt you through uprights as well. WTF kinda statement is that anyway. Sounds a bit unstable, perhaps even Jeffrey Dahmerish.

Sure you can, different breeds of dogs merit different rules based on how dangerous they can be

Some dog breeds clearly have different attributes from others. They were selectively bred by humans to display these attributes, and unfortunatley, some of those attributes make them them more dangerous than other breeds.

There are many breeds that have long become obsolete and they don't normally exist in nature. Do we really need dog breeds that exist for bull baiting and bear baiting in public areas? There would be nothing wrong with making these breeds disappear by selective breeding... afterall, that is the only reason why they exist to begin with. Bullmastiffs are a creation of man and never existed in the wild.

All domestic dogs(and cats) are a creation of selective breeding that never existed in the wild. The little yappy ones especially. There were never any wild dogs that were 5-10 pounds.

That's true.

But not all were selectively bred to have the tools to kill. In fact, most were bred to be harmless.

I see no reason for anyone in an urban area to own a dog that was bred for aggression. No matter how well that dog is trained, there are still genetic dispositions that can't be erased.

I somewhat agree. The only breed I really have a problem with is the pitbull. I still think that alot of it is the wrong type of people own these dogs but there is no denying what they were bred for.

You're correct that a small dog doesnt have the potential to injure but don't ignore the very real potential for a small dog's aggression to create aggression in an otherwise calm large dog.
