That seems harsh, I find mine better than my old storm without LTE.

I've been 50% Lte and 50% wifi today and I'm at 41% after 3h of screen on time and 6h 40m since unplugging the phone.

My old Desire HD would be dead after 2.5 hours of screen on time regardless of network so this is a big improvement for me.

I have to admit, the S3 looks really awesome. The iPhone 5 better blow it out of the water this fall or I may have to try it out.

Unless Apple improves fundamental flaws in their OS I can't see I being better. Android is just several steps ahead lately.

Hmmm, I wouldn't really know really..I came from blackberry...so everything is probably better. I heard good things about the IPhone as well and knowing Apple I'm sure they won't want to stay behind for long and end up like RIM.

so much of the iphone was Job's doing though. without him will Apple be able to keep up with the innovation? with all the lawsuits that they're launching against everything Android related, it seems like they're more interested in trying to keep their market share through legal action instead of through innovation

I don't think so at all. It's just their way of backing off competition from doing blatent ripoffs of future products should they win these lawsuits. Mind you some of these patent suits are ridiculous, but some of Samsung's blatent copying of the iPhone deserves a lawsuit. IMO, this is Apple's way of not only deterring copycats, but also representing the shareholders interests.

As for innovation, I honestly think Apple is safe for the next 5 years as an innovative company. They made enough of a culture over there to change, and that should continue to be the case. Where I'd be a little concerned was if Tim Cook isn't a hardass as much as Jobs, the culture will slowly ease into more laisse-faire when it comes to having a well refined product, or leaks. That to be as much as a concern as anything, but there'll be indications of that as time passes.

the "copying Apple" argument is pretty much bull####. the original iPhone wasn't the first smartphone, touchscreen phone, or the first device with apps. all Apple did was take existing technology and polish it to a point where it far outclassed everything else on the market at that time. and Apple wasn't worried about litigation when they were on top, they didn't seem to care about the original Samsung Galaxy S when it came out, even though it's the device that most resembled an iPhone. only when Android started to catch up and eventually overtake iOS as the dominant mobile environment did they start throwing out lawsuits left and right. and now they're the ones "borrowing" new features from Android, like voice commands and a notification bar

now Google and partners like Samsung and HTC are the ones pushing the innovation. every new version of Android is getting faster and slicker and it's really leaving iOS in the dust, and the hardware has far eclipsed what Apple has right now. now they're the ones playing catchup, but they would be better served to remember what made them #1 in the first place instead of trying to drag everyone else down

Which is exactly what Apple does with all of it's products. Apple rarely (if ever) invents new products, they just take what's on the market and push it to new and exciting levels.

I really hope the next iPhone blows people out of the water because the 4s was underwhelming at best.

exactly my point, they're not pushing anything to new levels right now. the Galaxy S3 and HTC One are doing that at the moment, and if Apple doesn't stop putting so many resources into litigation instead of new product development, i think it's really going to bite them in the ass in the future

I get what you're saying, but this is Apple here. They have more than enough money to do both. I personally don't own an Apple product yet, but I can't help but admire their innovation/refineness of their products. Certainly Jobs stole ideas and refined them, but at the same time, companies like Google poach engineers from Apple all the time and vice versa. Don't you think some ideas are "stolen" from these same guys?

Anyway, I'm sure many of the ideas you and I think about coming up with have already been thought of 10X over. I still stand by my statements that Apple is doing what's in their best interest by standing by these lawsuits - frivolous or not. I agree that they have to continue to innovate, but their innovation is done as you said, by taking others ideas and making it work well for them. Every manufacturer is starting to do that now, and there's nothing wrong with it, it's just the way the competition has progressed.

Apple's patents are hilarious and they should continue to improve on others ideas instead of worrying about what Android is improving of theirs.

The slide to unlock patent is one of the worst. Make better phones and products instead of adding s to a phone and watching sheep rush t buy a new phone.

As one had email issues? Today I had our IT guys setup my work email through Microsoft Exchange server. I get all my emails but then I am told I need to update my security setting and am dropped from my server. It seems to reconnect and I’ll receive a batch of emails and my pending sent ones will go through but then I’m shortly notified that I need to update my security settings and am dropped again.

I’ve had my IT guys look at it and he seems to be stumped. Anyone have insight into this?

I've had a different problem with mine. I now receive all of my text messages in outlook on my work computer as well. It is a personal phone but I use it for work as well. It is rather inconvenient to have all of my personal text messages being store on our work server. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to rectify it? I've put in a call to our IT guys but haven't heard anything back yet.

Edit: For some reason i had the sync SMS option selected in my e-mail options. This has solved the problem, but i still blame the IT guy.
