CFL 2011/12 Offseason thread

M*A*S*H 4077's CFL season predictions:

With the 2012 season nearly here I thought I’d just throw some thoughts and predictions out there.

2012 will be the year of the running back. As defences get smaller to stop the pass and defend the big field, running backs are going to put up some monster numbers this year. Cornish will lead the way but I am thinking there will be 6 guys over 1000 yards. Don’t know which 6, but I think the league is ripe again for the return of the back.

BC is the team to beat, without a doubt. They will run away with the west. Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatchewan will fight it out for the next three spots. Durant is the most proven QB out of those teams, though I expect Tate to at least be serviceable. If Edmonton can find a QB they could be very dangerous.

The East is Hamilton’s division to lose. I think Winnipeg will fall this year, I don’t think they will make the playoffs. Toronto and Montreal will fight it out for 2nd and 3rd in the east.

Random Predictions:

Bo Levi Mitchell is starting by Labour Day.

Henry Burris wins MOP

Keon Raymond wins Defensive Player of the Year. I hung out with him for a week this spring – he is ready to go.

Saskatchewan makes the playoffs.

Playoffs:
Calgary over Saskatchewan
Toronto over Montreal

Mark my words. Henry Burris will be throwing the ball more to the other team than his receivers. He will be replaced half way through the season by Dan LeFevour/Quinton Porter. That's my only prediction for the 2012 CFL season.

Random, crazy predictions? It's absurd, yep, but it's fun to go off the board. I do agree that it's pretty unlikely...

I think he's got one more year left in him. But he was going nowhere in Calgary. That receiving corps they've got is solid. We'll all find out soon enough. 'Tis why they play the game

Bombers starting runningback Chris Garrett out for the entire season after being injured in practice. Devastating blow. This guy was money last year and due to become a household CFL name imo.
