I couldn't disagree more. Shinoda is the ####. Beddington is a sham.

I wish there was a feature on this board that let me filter out posts about terrible bands like LP.

I'm a big fan of Corgan and Co. but I'm not too sure about Oceania. It's not a total sellout to pop like Linkin Park but it's really lacking in the rock department. Maybe it will grow on me but I'm a little disappointed.

Zac Brown Band : Uncaged July 10th Token Stampede CD just in time.....

Foals : Tapes July 24th when you are so sick of country music....Foals will cure you.....

The XX : Coexist September 11th

Somewhere between now and then new Biffy Clyro also. Double album. Should be good. They are possibly splitting up after this release and same goes for Foals. Sure.....

Ugh....Don't like them, fine, but don't make unfair statements. Why can't they experiment? Why can't they try something different without being accused of selling out? Why can't they blend different genres?

And for the record, there's a couple real hard songs on the new album. "Victimized" is probably their heaviest song they've ever done. Chester screams with the best of them.

The first half of the album is by far my favorite. The first few minutes of the self-titled track are epic as well. Panopticon, Violet Rays and My Love is Winter are my favs.

This is my biggest music pet peeve. The fact that people actually think bands hate the music they're making and only do it for money is absurd to me. Some people must just feel unless you make your first record over and over again you're clearly not into it for any other reason.

If I didn't like them I wouldn't have bought the album would I? I'm a loyal fan of artists just like my sports teams but that doesn't mean I will accept substandard product and look the other way just because I'm a fan (like my opinion of the Pumpkins new album for instance). It's a better album than A Thousand Suns and honestly I find Burn It Down a very catchy tune but the overall vibe of the album is kind of depressing and syrupy outside of three or four songs. Personally I find nothing experimental about their new music (the first two albums were cutting edge) as Linkin Park is actually very savvy tailoring their music to what sells and rock really isn't selling so going pop makes sense financially.

Victimized isn't even really a song at more of just a minute and a half mash so I wouldn't call it a heavy song as outside of Chester screaming "Victimized" at the top of his lungs it's not a heavy instrumental. This does bring me to one positive though and that's the short length of the songs in general. This does make the album easier to listen to than say Oceania that drags out some of the slow material far longer than the songs merit.

Bottom line it that it's my opinion and it's perfectly fair as it's my opinion.

Color me unimpressed with LP's new album. I just listened to the whole thing on Youtube and nothing stood out for me. It's better then Minutes to Midnight but that album was garbage. I use to love LP but I think I've out grown them. Every once in a while I'll still throw Meteora or Hybrid Theory on. I don't know, I just can't get into any of their new stuff.

Saying Chester screams with the best of em gave me quite the chuckle. If by best of em you mean the artists you hear on modern/mainstream rock radio, then yes I suppose he does scream with the best of em. If we're talking all artists then a lot of great screamers have just been insulted.

Have you seen him live? In terms of ability, he's right up there. You may not like his voice or his sound or the band and that's cool, but he actually does have some talent.

For starters, we're both biased: You love LP and I like actual metal. He can scream fine and loud and angry...that doesn't mean good though. To me a good screamer should either make you feel epic power or outright frighten you. I mostly feel nothing (except maybe laughter) when I hear Chester scream, as I do Corey Taylor or Dave Draiman. When King Diamond and Rob Halford scream, I can feel the epic power. When Mike Patton screams, I feel completely terrified. I've left out many more superior screamers, but I'd say Chester would rank as average or below average compared to many others.
