Good video. Kerr's goal call in the game where he scored against PHX makes me cringe.
Not looking forward to him yelling at random times again for every flames broadcast.

Steinberg's latest twitter posts make it seem like Sven won't play in the NHL this season.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
I read the re-signings today as such: the
#Flames have some promising pieces for the future (Baertschi, Reinhart, Brodie, Gaudreau)...
Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
...but those pieces aren't ready to be true impact guys in the near, near future.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
I think the
#Flames are trying to give certain guys time to develop while also staying somewhat competitive in the time being.
Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Whether it works or not, we shall wait and see. But that's what these three 2 year contracts indicate to me.

Steinberg is basically the most connected media guy to the Flames these days. He's to the Flames what Stauffer is to the Oilers.

@sniper261987 so what RFA's have yet to sign contracts?

He said true true impact players. He was probably thinking top 6. He is right, Sven should be brought along slowly on the 3rd line and move up from there. I am not sure hwy everybody keeps pencilling Sven in the top 6 right out of the gates?

It honestly wouldn't shock me to see Backlund moved in a package for a #1 center. I'm sure Feaster will get the other guys re-signed soon. If Sven has to spend some time in the AHL that's fine by me. Giroux, Eberle, Perry etc. had to spend time in the AHL, is it really so bad that he will to?

I'm pretty sure Sven would have to play this upcoming season in the WHL if he doesn't make the Flames as he is not an overage player.
He would probably put up 3 points/game with Seth Jones on the backend.

I'm quite certain Baertschi is a lock for 3rd line LW, with the potential to move up with good play.
I think he is more referring to the fact that Baertschi probably won't make a huge impact on the Flames fortunes until his 2nd or 3rd season, and that is about the time guys like Reinhart, Ferland, Gaudreau, and Granlund arrive on scene... and about the time guys like Bouma, Horak, Nemisz, Ramo, Irving, and Brodie really start to impact the team.
Hopefully Backlund leads the way by becoming an impact player this season.
