Too bad England was so disjointed going forward. The loss was deserved but disappointing. They only needed one goal.

I'm now rooting for Germany. I like their style, and they have the best national anthem.
I don't know why the ref calls that crap. Have you noticed that over the years there are more and more offensive fouls (especially on corners)? I think forwards used to be able to challenge for balls against the defender more... now the defender just has to basically fall down and he'll get a free kick. Makes attacking and scoring alot harder.

Would much rather lose the pool then be correct.

I did predict that the semi-finals would come out of the two stronger groups though, just had the Dutch instead of Portugal in that spot.

Rooney only plays well for United and not England? No...say it aint so.....

Quote:
Fabio Capello has criticised Wayne Rooney, claiming the striker does not understand English and only plays well for Manchester United.

The former England boss was responding to Rooney's recent claims that some of the Italian's tactical plans "got lost in translation".

But after the player's indifferent displays at Euro 2012, Capello hit back.

He told Italian radio: "After seeing the latest game (against Italy) I think Rooney only understands Scottish.

"That's because he only plays well in Manchester, where Sir Alex Ferguson speaks Scottish."

Rio still mad. I think it's pretty clear what he's getting at here...can't disagree.

Ferdinand was impressed by the performance of Pirlo, but added: "If Pirlo was English would he have made the squad let alone been on the pitch?
"I don't know as his qualities may have been overlooked ... not by just the current manager but maybe those before him too."

Since 2004...Messi made 70 appearances for Argentina & scored 26 times. Rooney--66 apps & 26 goals. CRon--92 & 35 goals. ‪#euro2012‬

Hopefully Portugal decides to attack Spain.

Odd choice by Spain to leave Fabregas and Torres on the bench and go with Negredo.

This ref has been doing a good job, Portugal are forcing Spain to play an entertaining game.

I'm liking the pace. Portugal bringing speed and Spain are used to playing the game at walking pace.

The commentator just called the fans cruel for whistling every time Spain tries to slow the game to a snails pace.

This is probably the best game I've seen Portugal play.

This ref is hot and cold. Not biting on dives but then awarding some head scratching stuff.

So far though, this has been good stuff. Spain looking very uncomfortable.

Another kool-aid swiller that wants to see death by a million passes instead of an actually exciting game.

I'm giving Portugal huge credit for this game, they've come to play and made this exciting.

Poor Donetsk fan. They were jeering already on Saturday when Spain played France in this stadium.

NANI: [NAH-ni], verb. (1) Upon minor contact, the act of throwing one's arms up to call for a foul before even hitting the ground.

Negredo off after doing a grand total of nothing.

Is Del Bosque a genius or average and just benefiting from a great crop of players? Playing with no central striker and selecting odd players like Negredo?

I think the pbp guy is a tad confused. He's mentioned several times that et is looming and just said there is only 14 mins left.

Uhh 66 plus 14 is only 80.

Did I miss the memo that the semis are now only 80 mins long?

Well since Spain is playing, they probably figured why waste 10 more minutes watching them pass it around and just get to the good stuff.

Average tactically but does a good job in getting the Madrid/Barca players to co-exist in the camp and play as a team.

This has actually been a good game, I think Portugal have been the better side.
