Wow, so my DH is 60 now, about 20 mins into ACT 1 I dinged, upgraded to semi solid gear less than 2 million total worth of buying, sitting at 40k dps, 30k health (dont really care about health) and I am utterly destroying act 1, I'm talking 5 seconds to kill almost any rare/elite groups in all of act 1, butcher took me about 5 seconds as well.
Started act 2 just a few mins ago, hit an elite group, same result.
Now understandably they did nerf act 2, but wow the DH in comparison to my WD is hilarious, I am at times laughing and others crying over how much time and effort I had to put into my WD to progress in inferno act 2/3 and 4.

With that DPS, (I assume without SS) you should be tearing it up. I have almost half that, with almost 45k health, and have no problems with Act 1 at all and am at Belail in terms of progression, Kulle was tough due to enrage timer, so I have been farming Butcher the chances I do get to play as it only takes me about 35 mins to do a run, unless elites/champs are hiding in strange corners.
What weapon do you have? Thats the hardest part for me, especially with so many other people taking up DH, our gear is very expensive.

Also since bow/crossbow/hand bow is kinda new to me, I have been sticking with bows for the nice bonus plus I loathe the slow AS on crossbows.
Is this a general consensus for DHs?

Bows are good for AS (life on hit, hatred regen, slightly easier time kiting due to faster animation), plus they have a nice flat damage bonus from Archery. As a SS DH, I give slight preference to 2Hxbow, due to the 50% crit damage bonus that it affords to the burst. I find my style tends to maximize the burst damage from SS, so I want that to be as big as possible.
The real gem for the DH class is the 1hxbow though. Not only is it fast to attack, but they are the only bows with the DH specific bonuses (max disc, hatred regen). Additionally, you can dual wield and get that 25% speed bonus, but hard to get 2 with good DPS but they can be used with a good quiver (which can also have your +disc/hatred regen as well). Good luck betting one with a DPS that rivals the other options though, especially on the AH.
That said, I wouldnt let the bow type get in the way of an upgrade, as it all evens out in the end unless you have a build/play style that really capitalizes on one or the other.
As for your build, I am very suprised not to see Smoke Screen in there. Multishot is ok, but it is a huge hatred hog and EA/NT does a fairly good job at AE clearing anyway. I am guessing this is the result of you being very well geared for your progression, and ripping through stuff without the need for the SS
Hungering Arrow/Devouring is much better than Shatter shot, especially since you have a bunch of AE stuff anyway. You need single target damage for boss/elites/champs more than you need multiple AE clearing options.
My build is here:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...VXT!YeT!YabcZZ
I really don't like Ball lightning, as the DPS punch of NT doesn't seem to be there - they both claim to do the same damage but maybe I am just delusional. Going to consider EA/Frost Arrow. I really struggled getting rid of tactical Advantage, but in the end it really hasn't caused me any issues plus allowed me to get both Steady Aim and Archery into the mix without losing Sharpshooter. If I can get above 30% crit hit chance, I will remove Sharpshooter for TA, as I think that is almost the break even point
For Bait the Trap, I can see with the high DPS it would work well to burn stuff down quickly, but for me the the Jagged Spikes are a much better option. They really are the solution if I come across a pack affixes that I have trouble with, like Mortar/Invuln/Fast. It adds a rather large chunk of damage even if you just run in circles and drop one when your disc is full. It can also be used if your templar blocks something in a door, you just walk up behind him and drop2-3 caltrops and watch them rip the pack apart

Honestly I never really use multishot, I had smoke screen for quite some time but never used it either. I get the feeling I will need that smoke screen in acts 3 and 4.
Thanks for the info dude, looks like I need to play around with 1h crossbows!

For the DH players, can you guys provide some tips on what stats to aim for in inferno?
I decided not to get any significant gear until i hit lvl60.
How much dex, vit, life, DPS, hatred/discipline, resist, attack speed, crit chances/damage should I aim for?
Thanks.

I am currently at the end of Act 2 Inferno, but most of my time since 1.03 has been farming Act 1
I found once I passed about 120k effective hp (with dodge), things got a ton easier. Right now I have about 145k effective hp and I am quite happy with it. I posted a link earlier in this thread about a link that helps you calculate effective hp. edit: Found the link http://rubensayshi.github.com/d3-ehp-calculator/#intro
I am having no problems with 20k dps (56k with SS) but always want to be pushing that up while maintaining hp. And Thor said, 40k DPS he is having a really easy time.
Do whatever you can to get good + disc on your quiver and chest piece. If you are lucky enough to get a good 1 hander with + disc, thats a good bonus, but pretty tough to do while maintaining DPS. When things get rough, your disc bubble is effectively your life, so it needs to be as full as possible when you start a fight. I currently have 48 disc, and I really notice it over the 30 you start with.

I have been doing a lot of crafting ... I have the plans for the 6 property Shoulders, Boots, and Bracers. I find this pretty fun and profitable. I just recently started streaming and charging people a fee. I think I charge like 7k over what it cost to craft each piece so I don't make much there.
I usually make my money crafting items and reselling them. For example I just got the bracers plan and crafted 5 bracers. 3 of them were crap but 2 of them were pretty good. 750k-1mil on the AH. It cost 87k + mats to craft one. I think the mats are around 75k. So your looking at 163k per pair. I crafted 5 so it cost me 815k. Lets say I sell both for 1.5 mil. Thats a pretty decent profit.
Here is my crafting ad on D3 forums if anyone wants to try some crafting. Ill hook some of you guys up with cheaper prices, especially if you leave me some good reviews on the d3 forum. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/top...74005?page=1#0
Crafting : Bracers, Boots and Shoulders. Requirements:28 Esscence+ 5 tears+ 8 tomes of secret +95k ( includes the Blacksmith fee) if you bring your own mats...if you want to do 10 its 920k plus the 280 Esscence , 50 tears, and 80 tomes
....If I supply the mats its 180k per
if we do 10 with me supplying its 1.7M....
I suggest buying atleast 10 because you will get a greater return on the auction house.I have made millions selling these gloves and over 400$ selling them on the AH!

believe me it was an expensive endeavor... but it will pay off eventually. I bought the bracers today for 14 million. I just checked and they are now 25 mil.
Also http://www.twitch.tv/nickerjones is my streaming channel. I am stuck in bed with an injury so its hard to farm ( or play) with the MBP's mouse pad. So if you wanna chat or something ill be in and around the channel waiting for crafting customers.

Finally hit my first million. Took a gamble that Whimsy Inferno would be better than waiting and buying a pattern for crafting.
Here is hoping.

You need to hold classes nickerjones for us clueless. Most of the time when I auction something it either doesn't sell at all (no one wants it, 2000 gold was even too much), or it sells instantly (which means I probably under priced it).
I'm level 56 and I still have only maybe 650,000 gold.

the only crappy thing about Whimsy is MF no longer works on the Clouds/pinanta after the last patch. Usually people would clear all the monsters then go put all mf gear on and go back back through and hit clouds and pinata.
Well no need to buy plans for yourselves. Pappy here will hook ya'll up. I will do them at cost for my CP brethren . All I ask is that you give me feedback on D3 forums page so people will come craft with me.
As far as AH goes Photon. It's all blind luck on who sees it. I have had a lot of hit and misses as well. Sometimes when I get something that I am not sure if its good or not I list it at 100 starting bid with no buyout and wait and see what happens. Sometimes I get lucky and it goes for a lot .
Crafting is all luck too. I have made some stinkers that wouldnt go for 10k .

Get 60 and start clearing Act 1 Inferno, then you will get items worth selling.
You have a grand phantom bow pattern, nick?

no i don't... All I have is Bracers , Boots, and Shoulders.. I want to expand but its seems like gloves are the only other ones people want.. They are quite expensive ( a lot more than the others) Im debating on whether or not to look into some legendary plans. This crafting is actually going well. I was watching a stream and the dude was making multi millions an hour crafting... I would like to be like that. The only big things I have done are I crafted 70 items for a dude .. I made 5k on an item ( undercutting so people will use me) so I made 350k. Then one guy I rolled such a good item he gave me a 500k tip.
