You would think that with Hodgeson being so pro long ball that he would want Carroll in the starting 11. I find lumping the ball forward like this very frustrating at times.

These games always worry me, Italy is much more dangerous on the counter and tend to struggle when they have the possession.

Remember when the England national team was worth watching?

Sure that may have lost in heartbreaking fashion but at least it was fun.
The old Shearer, Backham, Sheringham, Owen, Scholes days... or even going further back.

England have 10 men behind the ball at all times. Welbeck has been as far back as his own goal line! When England get the ball, they have no idea what to do with it.

England's problems are not in taking the ball forward. They are being victimised with the ball over the top and behind the defenders. They are picking on Terry. One of these chances they are eventually going to take.

Young has been poor. I expected much more from him over the past 4 games.

The White Pele still looks rusty. England NEED him to be better.

Young should have come off. Milner has been decent.

I don't mind that they are defending well, it is their only chance, its the 2nd division long ball they are playing and that fat moron Rooney I can't stand.

I agree but it kind of sad. This Italy team is nothing special, England shouldn't have to play this way.

English always used to play a style no-one else played. Dynamic down the wings and great strikers in the box. You remember the great matches in the 90s. England-Holland '96, England-Argentina '98. England doesn't produce like that anymore.

This is the most boring soccer game I've ever seen and that includes the Greek philosophers versus the German philosophers.
