Tom Wilson players are a dying breed in this league, and for good reason. There's no such thing as a power forward anymore. They don't succeed in the NHL.

disagree

no more Neely or Bertuzzi pre-lockout types, but guys Lucic are still so valuable

A real true power forward has always been rare in the NHL.

If we were to get say Collberg and Jankowski or Matteau, I'd consider that pretty good considering.

How good have past two drafts been?

Hard to tell with so few guys actually showing what they can do in the NHL

Dumb move by Feaster and co. but not surprising.

Still seems scrambled...

The Flames should trade down again.

The thing is, that if you can get someone to trade in the 25-29 range that has another 2nd, I wouldn't be opposed to that either.

That isn't what I said/meant.

Our specific team of scouts have put together 2 very impressive drafts the last 2 years. I have faith in our collection of scouts, specifically with Weisbrod's influence to do what is best for our team.

And if they don't feel strongly about the group of kids left (or value them all rather equally), acquiring an additional pick increases our odds of picking a future NHLer.

Teravainen
Maata
Collberg
Kerdiles
Hertl
Finn
Laughton
Jankowski

I'm fine with any of these at 21 and someone is going to be available.

Nobody on LA is a powerforward. Not Richards, not Brown.

They might be considered a powerforward by todays standards, but the last true power forward in this league was Iginla.

It's disappointing, but I guess you have to trust the scouting staff knows what they're doing. Last year's draft we made out really well, so I have faith they have a plan this year. I really wanted Forsberg or Grigorenko though and wished we had traded up for one of them

I love that they call players "sliders" based on the fact they themselves overrated them.
