The thought are JGL temporally becomes Batman while Bruce Wayne recovers from Bane breaking his back. Bane kills him (JGL Batman) in some epic public way but then Bruce comes back as Batman, kills Bane, and then everyone views him as “more than a man” prophesied in Batman Begins.
up until the "kill JGL" part I was thinking/fearing the Azrael/Knightfall arc on screen.

Also Star Trek III: The Search for Spock will include the crew looking for Spock.
Nah, it's Kirk and the gang all trying to train to contain their emotions like Spock in order to become more heroic. They'll all become just as tortured as he was, and sappy emotional drama will ensue.
Well why is everyone saying he will die? JGL takes over while bruce is laid up.
It's more about after the rise the speculation is that he'll die. Batman comes back, defeats Bane, but in the act he dies for Gotham, thus giving everything he (Batman) has.

given that this will be Christian Bale's last movie as Batman and the problems that would present an upcoming Justice League movie, i think the Bale Batman dying and JGL taking up the role would be the perfect way for the Nolan series to end while still keeping the continuity intact for future movies
I was looking on IMDB for JGL character's name and noticed Liam Neeson is listed. Thoughts on what Ra's al Ghul's role will be?
Flashbacks.
Spoiler!
I maintain that Bane was sent by the League of Shadows/Assassins do to Gotham what Bruce Wayne refused. And I also think that Marion Cotillard is Talia al Ghul

I think Nolan's Batman should stand on its own. DC and WB can reboot Batman for their JL movie. I don't see how charaters like Superman or Green Lantern fit inside the more "realistic" world Nolan has created. I am not a fan of DC's other heroes so speaking selfishly as a Batman fan, I could care less how this film affects their future JL plans. Also, Wayne shouldn't die.

I'd love to see them hint at his immortality but I don't see that happening. That's an interesting take.
Spoiler!
I thought maybe it would be a flashback to when Bruce was being trained by him.
The thing with the Justice League movie is that they're doing it in the opposite fashion of Marvel's Avengers. They're going to do the Justice League movie first, and then the spinoff movies.
By doing that, you've allowed yourself probably 4 to 7 years of down time for the Batman franchise before picking a new direction.
Whoever comes in to do Batman after Nolan is going to need a bit of a buffer.
