Fly these guys to Russia and lock them in a leaking nuclear reactor. If they don't melt...they can be free in 15 years.

Unbelievable he tries to cross by land into the states in the truck that the police are on the lookout for. I guess he was too busy listening to his iTunes, and not the news.

Apparently he had no passport. How can someone so evil be so stupid as well? Perhaps thats a fortunate thing. If only evolution had taken him out prior to him murdering three innocent people....

Amazing thing is that he was arrested without incident.

"Get out of the car sir, you're under arrest"

"D'uh ok!"

I mean this is a guy with a gun and $330000! Not even a gunfight?

The article I read said he had no weapons on him when apprehended.

That's even more shocking. After shooting 4 people... driving around with $330000 with no gun.

$330,000? That's what he killed three people for?

This guy is an idiot. Why didn't he just drive straight down to the Alberta border crossing right after committing the crime? Makes me think that there was something he had to do in BC maybe another person?

You probably are over-thinking things....it seems he is just an idiotic, cold-blooded killer who had no grasp on reality as to what would happen after he mercilessly gunned down 4 people.

There is dumb and then there is clueless...and from what I have read about this scumbag, he is definately in the latter group.

Umm you mean change his vehicle, license plates, get fake documents to cross the border? Doesn't seem like it.

If you were smart and could get away with it, that's alot of money.

I'm sure assassins kill for less.

(or I'm watching too many movies)

Must've gotten a hit on the nickname 'Slick'.

Just trying to keep it light, guys.

Even more depressing that this was a crime of idiocy.

I agree with some other people in this thread, the company probably bears some responsibility for this.

What a sad and depressing story - if everything played out the way that it appears it did, then it is a shame that he didn't put put one in his head and be done with it, although from the looks of it he just didn't appear to be very smart.

G4S is going to have to do a complete overhaul of their hiring practices I think after this, how could someone not being a very violent person not be exposed at any time during the hiring process? I can understand not for every low level security guard who looks at a pile of dirt but the guy has a company issued sidearm for christs sake.

Exactly my thinking. I'll be very interested to see how things shake down at the branch level.

Looking at his picture in the paper, I think if you looked deep into his eyes all you would see is the back of his head.

One question i have is why do they do these drops at night. One of the biggest deterrants to theft is witnesses. You do the machines during the day and this is a lot less likely to happen

I'm thinking that they run out of money during the day and have to be restocked during the night so as to avoid unnecessary down time for the ATM, especially since this was a training shift. Plus when is the last time anyone heard of a robbery of an armoured car - it was likely the CIBC in Calgary in Northhill Mall.

I don't know about improving hiring procedures...

Realistically, could someone really have foreseen this? To the point of not hiring him?
