Default Three shot dead at UofA, fourth critical condition

Shooter is at large. Horrible tragedy. Hope they catch him quick.

The dead are from an armoured car company. Cops are everywhere.

That's terrible, apparently a motivated criminal attack rather than some lunatic with an axe to grind. Which makes you wonder whether there is more than one person behind the killings. An even scarier thought.

It's not at all sensationalistic or cheap to call this a University shooting instead of an armed robbery or targeted at an armored car. No sir. Good work MARIAM IBRAHIM and staff.

I hope the criminals are caught swiftly and brought to justice.

It's not just her. That is how everyone is reporting it.

I live right off the university and heard a steady stream of sirens. Had no idea a shooting occurred. Crazy... Just got home from campus too, walked through hub. Must have been only an hr or so that I was there.

Horrible news.

Just out of curiousity, do armoured car employees carry weapons at all?

Yes, they do. A few of the news reports have mentioned these particular employees were armed.

Poorly armed. The real issue is that they are going up against individuals who are dedicated and intent on acquiring the cargo they are paid (also poorly) to protect. It hardly seems worth it.

Hearing what happened at the UofA has made me sad, very sad. Those poor people.

This sounds like a well planned robbery, they hit basically two armored cars, there from what I heard are no videos of the actual killers, and they struck when the chances of witnesses are lowest, and they were ruthless enough to wipe out all potential witnesses with the only mistake being that the fourth survived for a time.

This was well planned and well scouted and they knew there was a lack of cameras in that area.

Unless the cops get really lucky they might actually get away with this.

Reminds me of what Darnell Bass tried to achieve

my buddy drove an armoured car for a while and they actually had some good fire power, nothing useful in a drawn out battle though....

My thoughts exactly.

You got to wonder though, how much money could they have had to kill 4 people

This is awful. Less of a robbery and more of an execution. Hopefully that area is loaded with cameras.
