Besides the usual ones (bugs, heights, etc), I have some weird ones:
-Very deep water, particularly in lakes. Don't know why this creeps me out so much, or why it bothers me more in lakes than in the ocean. The unknown, I suppose, and that I think it's unnatural for a lake to be extremely deep.
-Losing teeth. I hate the dentist. I seem to have dreams about losing a tooth or two every couple of weeks.
-Contamination (don't know if this is the best word). Probably my weirdest. Apparently I have a slight OCD for cleanliness, but I'm not talking about germs. I'm talking about things like the tree-man, some may have seen on the Discovery channel. Just grotesque alterations of the skin, body, etc. Things of this nature really, really bug me for some reason. I guess another example is the video game Prototype. Ugh.
Awful. Just awful.

Brain aneurysm. It can happen anywhere at any time. That's what makes it so terrifying.

Spiders! If you are around me when those disgusting things are found you will temporarily lose your hearing. When I lived in the NW, my fiance had to drive from his work place in the SW to come kill one for me because I was freaking out! And the AB spider is NOTHING compared to the BC spider because its warmer here. Im used to wolf spiders that can straddle a toonie quite comfortably and they are freakin fast when they want to be!

The ocean. I fell and got tossed around by some waves when I was very young and ever since I've had trouble in 'turbulent' water (fast moving rivers, lakes during bad weather, even wave pools when the waves get going). But the ocean is by far the worst. When I was in Hawaii as a kid I couldn't get in past my waist, and now I really don't even consider going in past my ankles.

I mentioned earlier in this thread I'm an arachnophobe, when I was living on the west coast a few years back we found one of those in my room on the edge of the bed, my knees nearly buckled when I saw the size of it, had never seen one before. Looked like a friggin tarantula, I actually thought it was at first.
The creepiest part is, my cousin (who had the other room in the basement) said he saw one down there like a month before. How long was I co-living with that thing??

Well to be fair, I'd hardly recomend even good swimmers start messing around in fast (or slow for that matter) moving rivers unless you really understand the currents. Lakes during bad weather can be very unpredictable so to be in one during bad weather is a terrible idea. I'm very similar in Hawaii. More to do with sharks and second because of a fear of being swept away or just in danger. It makes me feel sick thinking about it. I can rationalize it away in large groups though. I've also been snorkling with a group when a few reef sharks starting swimming around underneath us. I managed to keep it together but the thought of something bigger like a Tiger or Bull shark sends me to the toilet

The Dentist. It's ridiculous. One awful experience a couple of years ago where the freezing wouldn't work when I was getting a root canal, but the stupid dentist didn't believe that I could feel what she was doing is what ruined it for me. I was scared before, but now it's an admittedly over-the-top fear. Dentist visits are now just full of shaking and tears. God, I'm such a baby lol.

So many people are scared of spiders, but I have no idea why.
We are SO much larger then the spiders you're going to encounter in your own home. They're much more scared of you then you're scared of it.

Yes, I forgot the dentist. Once while putting the freezing in, they hit a nerve or something, and it felt like someone dropped a hot iron on half of my face. I started hyperventalating, tried to get up, knocked the tools they rest on your chest on to the floor. It was excruciating. Now I can never sit calmly at the dentist, I'm always incredibly tense, just waiting for the pain to come. I start sweating, forget to breathe.
And then *******I******** get a ####ing bill!!!!!1!!!!!!!1

It has nothing to do with the size. I don't like "things" crawling all over me. Spiders are also creepy looking. You can't rationalize someone's fear away because fear is irrational.

so far everything i've read in this thread doesn't seem to apply to me. i guess a huge spider the size of a wall clock would freak me out a little, but the regular size ones are no problem (i get them all the time in my ground floor condo and it's an easy paper towel solution). i thought about the tight spaces as well, and if i were enclosed so tight as to be unable to move i'm sure i'd freak out, but i'm not claustrophobic in the sense that a closet or other small area will cause me anxiety. i also love swimming in the ocean, i fly infrequently enough to still find it enjoyable, and i'm good with any height as long as there's a guard rail or something else in place
the one real fear i had as a kid was one or both of my parents dying. you'd hear those news stories about kids being orphaned when their parents were in a bad car accident and it terrified the hell out of me to think of that happening. and then when i was 18, my mom died and i was forced to confront my greatest fear head on. i've never felt as emotionally devastated as i was in the days/weeks/months after. after going through that any little fear i might have had before seemed pointless

Unfortunately, the last time someone did that to him, he showed up with all his family and well, I'm just not into a gang war. While my family fights with their fists, his is more likely to use weapons.
The next step is calling the cops.
*Edit* I strongly believe he needs help from a professional as I believe he is mentally unstable.

oh man, this breaks my heart.
I may not be a big swimmer, but I couldn't imagine not living by the ocean. It's so beautiful, and calm. When it's turbulent it's awesome.
There's NOTHING as relaxing as sitting back and watching the waves of the North Atlantic, nothing.

For me it's not the size. I hate when I see one, and I get up to kill it, then it's gone. I then start freaking out cause I lost it, I wonder if it knows what my intentions are and if it's plotting something. My skin starts crawling and I start thinking every little sensation on my skin is the spider so I start slapping myself. Then days pass, I still don't find him, I'm on edge cause I just don't know when or where he'll pop up. It's rather nerve racking.
Worse is when I'm walking, doing something, and I walk into a web, my only thought is OMG OMG OMG... and start waving frantically
I hate spiders. And I was fine when I was younger. Then I decided to watch Arachnophobia. After that, I am in terror.

Same, thought I was the only one. Then I start judging myself wondering why I have this urge to want to push someone off, or jump off. Also get that fear that someone is going to run up behind me and push me.
