Oh okay, yeah if that was an option it would certainly be the way to go. I definitely think the CoG could have done a better job of looking at options, but it may well be a case where going any of those routes would see Jamison walk from the deal. The CoG doesn't really have much in the way of leverage and I'm sure that's being fully exploited.

I think we all know that no, this is not a possibility. There is no incentive for Jamison to agree to such a thing if someone else is getting the AMF. The entire reason why he would agree to such a penalty for breaking the lease is the fact that he's getting the money from the city.

And that is the point. If this is the only way someone would invest in an NHL team in Phoenix (at it seems the NHL may even loan Jamison funds too!), what the heck are we doing here?

That's a question for the CoG. If they are willing to agree to terms that make owning a team in Phoenix desirable there's no reason not to be there.

If the NHL wants to stay in PHO, they need to reduce the sale price - not fleece Glendale. Glendale is acting foolishly, but the NHL taking advantage of an inept, HIGHLY motivated seller. It's a cruel thing to watch. Like that cute litte deer being torn apart by a lion in those nature films...

"We"? The NHL is a business, and if the Jamison and Glendale wish to partner up to try and make the existing team work, that is their call. The loan angle, I'll admit is stupid. If he cant raise the funds now, he's not going to be in a good position if losses exceed expectations. The NHL should stay out of that kind of deal.

From Jamison's position, why wouldn't he try to make a go of it. If vendor financing is available on favorable terms, if he can line up the necessary investors and if the AMF $ from the CoG comes through there may well be a business case.

The wisdom of the NHL owners offering vendor financing (if that is the case), and why the majority of CoG council members think the AMF on offer is the best case scenario for the City are separate issues.

Really, I'm not the one who has been throwing the insults around, it's been you and Valo. So now I react and you take umbrage. Your post is a POS.

As for the rest of your post, that's the kind of thinking that led to the housing collapse.

I don't know what's more entertaining - This ongoing train wreck of a story or the mudslinging and insults flying back and forth between posters in this thread.

That being said, I think this thread is in need of a "refocus" post from the powers that be.

Edit to add - Big thanks to troutman. I always come in this thread to search out your posts, as you keep it updated with info from all angles.

If that were the case it would be ok but it isn't, they are trying to put it on the Glendale public to pay for it by raising taxes which is wrong and why this deal will eventually get crushed in the courts.

You've made a fool of yourself over and over again in this thread, the fact that you think I'm a joke is actually a compliment.

Well that's an issue for the people of Glendale and the Arizona courts. If the deal isn't legal or the process of approval isn't legal there will be no deal.
