What scares the crap out of you?

For sake of wanting to sleep tonight I am not going to look at that picture. I am a huge sissy when it comes to spiders. A year ago I was just getting ready to go to bed when I found what I consider to be a big one (about the size of a sand dollar) in my bathtub. I was living alone at the time and killing it was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. My adrenaline was through the roof and I sure didn't sleep that night.

I am probably claustrophobic too. I mean I can watch a movie like Burried and be totally cool. I am not sitting there having a panic attack while I watch something like that but if I were in a really tight place myself I would lose it. If I think about being in a confined space I get freaked out.

Spiders, though moving out to BC for a couple years really helped, as after seeing the monsters out there, the ones here in Alberta seem pathetic in comparison now.

Enclosed spaces as well. Agreed with whoever said they'll never see that Ryan Reynolds buried alive movie no matter how good it is. Even the peeviews made me squirm.

...so basically put me in a box full of spiders and my head would probably explode.

I would probably become a broken shell. I remember when I was young my dad forced me to go under our deck to retrieve a ball or something and I was so terrified because it was a dark, tight space and I was convinced that it was loaded with spiders.

Spiders and hornets/wasps. Not sure I've encountered something quite as scary as a hornet in the car while driving.

I have a severe allergy to bee and wasp stings-- and I'm more scared of the spiders.

Wasps are evil, and I don't care what anyone says about bees. As far as i'm concerned, they're just as evil.

Ya I briefly worked for a restoration company out in Nanaimo a few years back, one day they sent us to a trailer out in the sticks that had flooded. We had to go underneath to cut all the lining out, had to wear respirators/safety glasses/the works. Was so tight under there that you were almost pressed against the bottom of the trailer, not to mention all the dead rats (from spraying earlier) & big spiders that were under there.

Was pretty much my worst nightmare, closest I've ever had to experiencing a panic attack. Once I heard one of the other guys underneath saying he saw a big one run by him, I was done. Crawled out, told the supervisor I couldn't do it, never worked there again. Good times.

If you are allergic to bees you may be allergic to other insects as well.

Had one fly down my shirt while driving once. It got me 6 or 7 times before I finally squashed him. Just about drove off the road.

I've never been bit by a spider. Is the venom roughly the same? My doctor never even brought this up. I'll hit WebMD in a bit and see what it says, but now I'm good and creeped.

Moths. It's totally irrational, I know.

They're like zombie butterflies who only appear at night. They flutter around in the shadows making themselves appear 100 times larger. They surround the exits outside near porch lights so you get swarmed by them when you come or go.

Where butterflies bring about thoughts of sunshine and happiness, moths are nothing but despair and misery . . . and terror.

My dad owed a business in the NE, and the upstairs of the building was used as a storage when it wasn't being rented out to other businesses. It was a great place for my brothers and I to run around when we were kids. I mean a great place. There were machines everywhere, boxes, giant shelves of t-shirts to climb on, desks, stairs on wheels like they have at Staples--it was like a 40,000 sqft wonderland

One day on a weekend when I was about eight, we were playing hide and seek, and I made it upstairs and found an unlocked door to hide in. It was dark, and I stood there with the door creaked open with the lights off to keep a lookout, and after a moment or two, I closed the door, turned on the light and oh my god, there were moths everywhere. Thousands. Turning on the light startled them and they fluttered around and I panicked for a brief second while I was momentarily caught up in a tornado of fear. I remember I got the hell out of there and ran and ran and ran as ran as I could throughout the shop, turning sharp corners to outmaneuver them in case they were following me until finally I made buried myself in a pile of t-shirts (it was a silk-screening business.)

I hate moths.

Thankfully I have a dog who eats them. If one makes it inside, he'll sit there for nine hours until it gets close enough for him to chomp on. I also found that the vacuum makes short work of them, if I can muster up the courage to get close enough.
